Race Reports

 

Race 1 – Dynamic Electric | Maiden | 407m

 

ICY RED and RED BRIANNA were both slow to begin.

Shortly after the start ARE JAY JEAN was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

BET ON BETTY raced wide throughout.

A post-race veterinary inspection of ICY RED failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

Race 2 – Newsxpress Rockhampton | Novice | 407m

 

GIRLS ON FIRE was slow to begin.

RICHO’S MISS was slow into stride.

Shortly into the back straight RICHO’S MISS was tightened for racing room when LONG SHOTS shifted in marginally resulting in RICHO’S MISS being checked and losing ground.

GIRLS ON FIRE raced wide down the back straight.

 

Race 3 – Wendy Mulry Travel | 5th Grade | 407m

 

Best to begin was ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE.

Shortly after the start DOWNHILL was hampered and lost ground.

Upon entering the back straight ROUGH ODDS was hampered and lost ground.

HIGHWAY GIRL raced wide from entering the back straight and onwards.

A post-race veterinary examination of DOWNHILL revealed the greyhound to be suffering from a sore off side shoulder and was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 4 – Garry Moore Appreciation | 5th Grade | 407m

 

IRONPOT SMASH and MCQUIRE were slow to begin.

EXCITABLE ANGEL raced wide throughout.

 

Race 5 – Sandal Welding | 5th Grade | 407m

 

Even start.

Shortly after the start LOUIE VEE and BEETOWN ROSEY bumped on a number of occasions.

Shortly after the start ROMAN SAND was hampered and lost ground.

FIVE FORTY and WHINGING WILKO raced wide throughout raced wide throughout. Rounding the home turn BEETOWN ROSEY shifted out abruptly and pulled up shortly afterwards. A post-race veterinary examination of BEETOWN ROSEY revealed the greyhound to have suffered a broken its off side hock ad was subsequently euthanized on humane grounds.

Exiting the home turn ROMAN SAND was briefly hampered when BEETOWN ROSEY shifted out.

 

 

Race 6 – Accell Therapy Christmas Gift Final | 4th & 5th Grade | 407m

 

VINCERO was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start NAUGHTY NALA was tightened and lost ground.

Shortly after the start MISS WILDWEST shifted out tightening NAUGHTY NALA and carrying VINCERO wide on the track resulting in all greyhounds losing ground to differing degrees lost ground.

Shortly after the start HARA’S SKYLAH was hampered and lost ground.

Entering the home turn MISS WILDWEST was tightened and lost ground.

 

Race 7 – Rocky Feed and Seed | 4th Grade | 407m

 

OPPORTUNITY SIX was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start ESOTERIC, OPPORTUNITY SIX and HAPPY PANTERA were all hampered when BOKARM LEO shifted out abruptly resulting in all greyhounds losing ground to differing degrees.

Leaving the first turn MAGIC BENZ was tightened and lost ground.

BOKARM LEO and HAPPY PANTERA both raced wide in the back straight.

Nearing the end of the back straight HAPPY PANTERA made heavy contact with BOKARM LEO and became momentarily unbalanced.

Rounding the home turn HAPPY PANTERA shifted in abruptly resulting in BOKARM LEO checking across the heels of HAPPY PANTERA.

 

Race 8 – Patlaw Securities Christmas Cup Final | 510m

 

BETTA BE BUNDY and HACIENDA were marginally slow to begin.

Shortly after the start RIFF and CHANDON HAWKE bumped.

RED JAMIE took the first turn wide.

Rounding the first turn BETTA BE BUNDY checked from the heels of TRIP DANCER and lost ground.

A post-race veterinary examination of the greyhound SPEED ACTION failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

 

Race 9 – Dinky Di Web Design | Best 8 | 407m

 

LOGICAL OPTION was slow to begin and raced at the reared of the field throughout.

Entering the back straight BILLY CONGO was hampered and lost ground.

A post-race veterinary examination of LOGICAL OPTION revealed the greyhound to be suffering a torn off side hind thigh muscle and was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 10 – Adopt A Greyhound | 5th Grade | 407m

 

HALBER TAG and QUICKFIRE GIRL were slow to begin.

Shortly after the start MASTERD CARD was tightened and lost ground.
