Race Reports

 

Race 1 – WENDY MULRY TRAVEL NOVICE 407Metres

 

MUSIC MAESTRO was slow into stride.

SPECIAL SPEED was slow to begin.

RED DIGGITY was extremely slow to begin, shifted out on the home turn and bumped another runner on two occasions.

DE GEA bumped with another runner leaving the back straight.

CAMPFIRE KID bumped with another runner leaving the back straight and was bumped by another runner on two occasions coming around the home turn.

 

Race 2 – LIFE MEMBERS M5 407Metres

 

TAJO bumped another runner at the start.

GRACIOUS LADY bumped by another runner at the start, checked off the back of another runner entering the back straight.

LEXUS BANNER raced wide throughout.

 

Race 3 – NEWS XPRESS5th GRADE 407Metres

 

GODDESS MACHA shifted out on the first corner bumping another runner, bumped another runner on numerous occasions leaving the back straight. Was sent for a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the upper near hind leg and was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 10 days.

SPARKY LASS was bumped by another runner on the first turn.

BET ON BETTY bumped by another runner on numerous occasions leaving the back straight.

 

Race 4 – CLUB WORKERS APPRECIATION 5th GRADE 407Metres

 

DOUBLE TAP was slow to begin.

HAY BONUS began fast, led clearly throughout and shortened stride approaching the finish and ambled over the finish line. Was sent for a post race veterinary examination with no abnormalities found. Trainer Warren Pirie was advised by stewards that HAY BONUS was barred for 28 days and must pass a satisfactory trial for failing to pursue the lure with commitment.

It was reported to stewards by the starter the she believed trainer Warren Pirie inserted an object into the ears of HAY BONUS prior to entering the boxes. The starter notified the stewards during the race as to what occurred. The starter was directed by stewards to search the ears of HAY BONUS immediately after the running of the race.

It was then the starter discovered cotton wool had been inserted into both ears of HAY BONUS.

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into the reason why trainer Warren Pirie inserted cotton wool into the ears of HAY BONUS prior to entering the boxes.

CRACKERJACK RUBY checked off the back of another runner shortly after the start.

KODA KEEPER raced wide throughout.

 

 

Race 5 – DINKY DI WEB DESIGN 4THGRADE 407Metres

 

STILTED CHATTER bumped another runner at the start.

MR MICKEY bumped by another runner at the start.

FIVE FORTY was checked and lost ground shortly after the start.

HEADLINER raced wide throughout.

 

Race 6 – TAB 4th/5TH GRADE 407Metres

 

MYSTERIOUS ROSE was slow to begin.

SAPPHIRE RUBY raced wide throughout.

 

Race 7 – PATLAW SECURITIES 5TH GRADE 510Metres

 

The start of the race was delayed by five minutes when the starting boxes failed to open automatically when the lure passed the boxes.

All greyhounds were ordered to be retrieved from the starting boxes and to undergo a veterinary examination.

All greyhounds were cleared to start, stewards advised the starter to use the manual start for the race which was deployed successfully.

 

LONG SHOTS was slow to begin.

IRONPOT SMASH was slow to begin and raced wide in the early stages.

RED BRIANNA was slow into stride and failed to show any speed throughout.

 

Race 8 – SKY RACING BEST 8 407Metres

 

FACTIONAL bumped another runner at the start.

HAPPY PANTERA bumped by another runner at the start and was checked by another runner going around the home turn.

BONITTO was slow into stride.

Leaving the back straight SNOWBALL SHIRL was checked severely from behind and as a result suffered a heavy fall and finished the race well back. Was sent for post race veterinary examination with no abnormalities found.
