Race Reports

 

Race 1 – CAPALABA ON SKY RACING 9 DECEMBER, MAIDEN, 380M

 

Even start.

 

TRENDY HAWKE lost ground shortly after the start.

 

HARA’S DASH was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

MANILA JET checked off the heels of NICMAC BABE and lost ground prior to turning out of the back straight.

 

YOU’RE SO VAIN, SHAKE THE PAINT and NICMAC BABE bumped on the turn out of the back straight resulting in the three greyhounds losing ground causing interference to MANILA JET.

 

TRENDY HAWKE and NICMAC BABE bumped entering the front straight causing inconvenience to both greyhounds.

 

TRENDY HAWKE was tightened for racing room prior to the finish and checked off the heels of PAINT THE OCEAN.

 

Race 2– TAYLOR FAMILY, NOVICE, 380M

 

SILVER WEASEL was the best to begin.  BEST OF BEZA and ELL BAZZA were slow to begin.

 

BEST OF BEZA checked off SANDOWN SARAH and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

RAISE YOUR GLASS checked off HEZA CHOP CHOP and lost ground on the turn into the front straight.

 

BEST OF BEZA underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – DRIFTA @ BOHLE BARN, MAS, 380M

 

Trainer A. Metcalfe was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 39.2 for presenting MAXIMUM BABE to race with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing.  Subsequently MAXIMUM BABE was a late scratching from the race.

 

CHIPS AHOY was the best to begin.  HARBOUR REIGN was slow to begin.

 

BURNER BANT shifted out on the turn into the front straight to race wide bumping NO NOT ME.

 

NO NOT ME checked across the heels of BURNER BANT entering the front straight.

 

Race 4 – GRETA THOMSON, 4/5TH GRADE, 380M

 

DISCO NATTY was the best to begin.  WAYLON BALE and SMOKEY WISHES were slow to begin.

 

DISCO NATTY was tightened for racing room and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to OUR STAR.

 

OUR STAR shifted out across the hind quarters of HARA’S SKYLAH to race wide on the turn into the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

 

Race 5 – GOLFLINKS FISH BAR, 4TH GRADE, 380M

 

GRACIOUS LADY was the best to begin.  BIRR and PANTHER CLOUD were slow to begin.

 

BIRR checked off POPPY CHOOKY and lost ground prior to turning out of the back straight.

 

POPPY CHOOKY and PANTHER CLOUD raced wide in the front straight.

 

BIRR underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 6 – S & G PATEL TRANSPORT, BEST 8, 380M

 

Even start with BLACK AMEX and NOT A WORD slow to begin.

 

General tightening occurred shortly after the start resulting in KENNA and NOT A WORD losing ground.

 

BLACK AMEX improved on to the heels of CALL ME DORY on the turn out of the back straight resulting in BLACK AMEX becoming unbalanced and shifting out causing interference to KENNA and WILLY ROCKET.

 

WILLY ROCKET appeared injured and failed to finish the race.  WILLY ROCKET underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was found to have a near wrist injury.

 

Race 7 – LAMBERTS FRESH PRODUCE, 4/5TH GRADE, 498M

 

LICORICE SHOT was the best to begin.  OLD MATE KICK was slow to begin.

 

General tightening occurred on the turn into the back straight resulting in RONRAY FLAME losing ground.

 

LICORICE SHOT underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was found to have near hind leg bruising.

 

Race 8 – BOHLE BARN NQ CUP TSV, OPEN, FINAL, 498M

 

SLOW DANCER was the best to begin.

 

GOAT checked across the heels of LODGEMENT and lost ground on the turn into the back straight.

 

Shortly after WILD WISH checked across the heels of LODGEMENT and lost ground causing interference to GOAT.

 

WILD WISH raced wide into the front straight.

 

GOAT tailed off to finish a distant last.  GOAT underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Subsequently Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 71 stood GOAT down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial for an unsatisfactory performance.

 

Race 9 – LOUNDS FRESH SEAFOOD, 5TH GRADE, 380M

 

DOCKIN’ DAVE was the best to begin.  SWAP ME, SCOTT HOOKED and NICMAC JET were slow to begin.

 

SWAP ME checked off SLIDING DOORS and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to SCOTT HOOKEY, NICMAC JET and LOUIE VEE.

 

Race 10 – ANDY @ BOHLE BARN, 5TH GRADE, 380M

 

The start was delayed 1 minute due to interstate harness racing.

 

Even start with DARK CONDE, MAGIC GIZMO and TIN STAR slow to begin.

 

WESTMEAD WARRIOR was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

General tightening occurred on the turn out of the back straight resulting in STRONG ENOUGH and JOFFA’S MATE losing ground.

 

RHONDA’S YOGI raced wide into the front straight.

 

MAGIC GIZMO raced wide into and down the front straight.

 

Race 11 – ADOPT A RETIRED RACER, 5TH GRADE, 380M

 

Even start with BULL ANCE and DON’T TELL MUMMA slow to begin.

 

WINNIE’S ROSE raced wide into the front straight.
