Race Reports

 

Race 1 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM |   MAIDEN | 380M

 

Even start with SHAKE THE PAINT slow to begin.

 

COMMANCIE was tightened for racing room and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to SHAKE THE PAINT.

 

COMMANCHIE tailed off to finish a distant last a post-race veterinarian examination of the greyhound found no apparent injuries. Trainer A Camilleri advised stewards that it was his intention to retire the dog.

 

Race 2 – ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE | NOVICE | 380M

 

SOUTH PAW CIFIC was the best to begin.

 

SOUTH PAW CIFIC checked off RAISE YOUR GLASS and lost considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

Shortly after RAISE YOUR GLASS checked off SWEAR JAR and lost ground.

 

IMPENDING STORM and RAISE YOUR GLASS bumped on several occasions on the turn into the front straight resulting in inconvenience to both greyhounds.

 

The greyhound IMPENDING STORM underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – BURDEKIN VET SERVICES | GRADE 5 | 380M

 

Even start with HARBOUR REIGN and RHONDA’S YOGI slow to begin.

 

MAXIMUM BABE and JAFFA’S MATE bumped shortly after the start resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.

 

MAXIMUM BABE checked off WINNIE’S ROSE and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

The greyhound MAMIMUM BABE underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – BOHLE BARN HOTELMOTEL | GRADE 5 | 380M

 

Even start with RUSTY THE JETT slow into stride.

 

YOSSI checked off RUSTY THE JETT and lost considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to SWAP ME.

 

BLAZING BLUE and YOSSI raced wide into the front straight.

 

The greyhound YOSSI underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – BILLY THOMAS | GRADE 4 | 380M

 

OUR STAR was the best to begin.  BIRR and SALUTE THE CLOUD were slow to begin.

 

FANATIC was tightened for racing room and checked off MAGIC WISHES losing considerable ground on the turn out of the back straight.  The greyhound FANATIC underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Subsequently Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 71 stood FANATIC down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial for an unsatisfactory performance.

 

Race 6 – BUSHLAND BEACH STORE | MIXED 2/3 | 380M

 

Even start.

 

General tightening occurred in the back straight resulting in NORSE VIKING and FLAMING MOE losing ground.

 

FLAMING MOE checked off CALL ME DORY and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to DREAM AMORE and NORSE VIKING.

 

CALL ME DORY improved on to the heels of BACK STREET BOY and lost ground on the turn into the front straight causing interference to NORSE VIKING.

 

The greyhound DREAM AMORE underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer G. Tsakissiris was advised that the Stewards had concerns in relation to the racing manners of DREAM AMORE in particular in the front straight.  Mr Tsakissiris was advised that he would be given the benefit of a very grave doubt in relation to the greyhound’s racing manners.

 

Race 7 – KENNY’S AUTO ELECTRICS | GRADE 5 | 498M

 

WILLIE HOLDEN was the best to begin.

 

BANJO AN’ HENRY was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.

 

WILLIE HOLDEN checked off GRACIOUS LADY and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 8 – TOWN & COUNTRY CARAVAN PARK COUNTRY CUP SEMI-FINAL | OPEN | 498M

 

SLOW DANCER was the best to begin.  DALMATYNSKI and INTENSIFY were slow to begin.

 

BRINDI CHOPPER checked off the heels of BIMBADGEN MAN and lost round on the turn into the back straight.

 

BIMBADGEN MAN lost ground entering the back straight and took no further part in the race.  The greyhound BIMBADGEN MAN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hock and was humanely euthanised.

 

Race 9 – CHEAPA AUTO SPARES | GRADE 5 | 380M

 

Even start with EL BAZZA slow to begin.

 

WAYLON BALE was slow into stride as the start was affected.

 

Race 10 – SKY RACING | SPW | 380M

 

Even start with ROCKIN’ DAVE and MAGIC GIZMO slow to begin.

 

OLD MATE GRETEL was tightened for racing room on the turn into the front straight and became unbalanced shifting out bumping QUEEN OF CAWDOR forcing that greyhound wide.
