General:

A complaint was lodged by handler B. J. Chaffey in relation to the actions of trainer G. Thomson towards the greyhound handled by Ms Chaffey (Max the Maniac) in the catching pen following the running of Race 11.

Evidence was taken from both parties resulting in a warning being issued to trainer G. Thomson for using force which the stewards deemed was bordering on unacceptable toward the greyhound Max the Maniac in the catching pen following the running of Race 11.

Race 1 – TAB - Maiden – 380m

1 Zipping Sapphire – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked off another runner after turning out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2 Winter's Storm – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Broken Free – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked off another runner after turning out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

6 Showgirl Lola – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 Crown Wexie – Slow to begin.

Race 2 – Garrards Horse & Hound – 5^th Grade (1) – 380m

1 Midnight Bella – Checked off another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight. 

2 Friendly Shadows – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Bounce By Name – Marginally slow to begin.

4 Heart's A Mess – Checked off another runner in the back straight.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

5 Fabio Flash – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

8 Rossi – Stewards questioned the racing manners of the greyhound, in particular the front straight.  Subsequently Rossi was stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and the completion of a satisfactory trial under the provisions of GAR 69A1 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment, (2^nd offence).

Race 3 – Angliss Meats – 5^th Grade (2) – 380m

1 Savannah Sun – Raced on from behind and fell entering the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2 Twisted Crystal – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Chisel Nibbs – Slow to begin.

5 Blinding Lights – Checked across heels and bumped another runner on the turn into the front straight.  Improved on to heels and checked off another runner entering the front straight. 

6 Sir Suave – Raced wide into the front straight.

8 Stilton Mary – Bumped by another runner on the turn into the front straight.  Checked off another runner entering the front straight. 

Race 4 – Just Perfect Kitchens – 5^th Grade (3) – 380m

3 Magnolia Wind – Raced wide in the front straight. 

4 Into Thin Air – Checked off another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight 

6 Looming Lara – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.  Raced wide on the turn into the front straight.

7 She's Sassy – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 5 – Jack Lynch – 5^th Grade – 498m

3 Bintang Bullet – Checked off another runner after turning out of the back straight.

4 Septimo – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

7 Thannhauser – Tightened for racing room on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 6 – TESTEL Townsville – Mixed 3/4 – 498m

1 Gold Assassin – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2 Finito Show – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

3 Billy Bottaluchi – Checked off another runner, shifted out bumping another runner on the turn into the back straight.

4 Cult Hero – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Raced wide in the front straight.

7 Awesome Alex – Slow to begin.  Bumped by another runner on the turn into the back straight.

Race 7 – Wee Win Kennels – 5^th Grade Final – 498m

3 Here Comes Pappa – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

4 Dr. Rayna – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

5 Loose Lips Jack – tightened for racing room on the turn out of the back straight.

9 Town Tamer (2) – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

Race 8 – KEYFLO Townsville Young Guns – Open Final – 380m

3 Excitable Jack – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

4 Editor – tightened for racing room in the back straight.

5 Patty Talks – Checked from behind by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

6 Major Gibson – Checked off another runner and fell on the turn out of the back straight. Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

7 Saltarello – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 Mac Zephyr – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

Race 9 – MCP Racing – Best 8 – 380m

1 Mali's Rocket – Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

4 Flying Tornado – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 10 – Aussie Pet & Animal Travel – Grade 4 – 380m

1 Diva Valentine – Very slow to begin.  Checked off another runner after turning out of the back straight.

2 Velocity Larni – Checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

4 Little Red Wagon – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

5 Barking Limes – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

Race 11 – Greg & Donna Brocking – Mixed 4/5 -380m

1 Dalmatynski – Marginally slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.
