Trainer G. Thomson was fined $100 under the provisions of GAR 39.3 for presenting Patty Talks to race in race 8 with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing.  Subsequently Patty Talks was a late scratching from the Race.

3 Joseph Bardy – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

4 Joshua's Magic – Raced wide into the front straight.

6 Mali's Torpedo – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

4 Eat My Smoke – Tightened for racing room approaching the turn out of the back straight.

Race 4 - MPL REFRIGERATION GRADE 4 | 380m

1 Positive Gearing – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Looming Lara – Checked off another runner in the back straight.  Raced wide into the front straight.

4 Georgia Pie – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

6 Rossi – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 Jimary Runabout – Raced wide into the front straight.

Race 5 - BELFORD KENNELS MIXED 4/5 | 498m

1 Rumble Ghost – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Lost ground approaching the turn out of the back straight and continued to lose ground finishing a distant last.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the right hind muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

2 Mali's Rocket – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Raced wide into the front straight.

7 Super Hard – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Bumped and checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

Race 6 - TALKING POINT PHOTOGRAPHY 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 | 498m

1 Lombardy – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

3 Panel – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

8 Wynburn Cruz – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

Race 7 - EASTER SPRINT TROPHY HEAT 1 OPEN | 380m

3 My Bro Benji – Slow to begin.

5 Inconsequential – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Saltarello – Slow into stride as the start was affected.

Race 8 - EASTER SPRINT TROPHY HEAT 2 OPEN | 380m

1 Sensational - Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2 Samshu – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Salaam – Lost ground shortly after the start.

Following the completion of the event and the declaration of the All Clear, the Steward in charge was alerted to an incident that occurred at the start of the event, namely a rake being left leaning against the starting boxes. Stewards made initial inquiries into the incident and a report will be detailed to the Chief Stipendiary Steward for investigation.

Update from 1.04.2021

The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Chief and Deputy Chief Stewards have held preliminary interviews with the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club Officials, Trainers, Handlers and the QRIC Stewards panel officiating on Tuesday, 30 March 2021 at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club.

Following the preliminary interviews, it has been established that there was a clear breakdown in communication from the Club Officials and Stewarding panel. Following the completion of the event and identification of the first four placings, the Chair Steward was not made aware of a plastic rake that had been left against the lids of the starting boxes. As a result, the all clear was incorrectly declared prior to any review being conducted of the incident, from the available patrol footage.

As the Stewards panel officiating at the race meeting declared the event a race and All Clear, no further alteration can be made. Subsequently, Race 8 – The Easter Sprint Trophy (H2), stands and the greyhounds successful in obtaining a place in the Easter Sprint Trophy Final continue in the series.

Stewards are continuing to investigate the processes currently in place and a Stewards Investigation Report will be provided to the QRIC Commissioner once complete. 

Race 9 - FROST & SPARK ELECTRICAL MIXED 4/5 | 380m

1 Elusive Missile – Shifted out bumped and checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

5 Rob's Gift – Bumped by another runner on the turn into the front straight.

6 Majestic Diva – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

7 Silly Billy – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

8 Reign Hail Shine – Jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin.

1 Twenty Dollars – Raced wide in the front straight.

3 Highly Rated – Marginally slow to begin.  Checked across heels in the front straight.

4 Sure Moment – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

5 Mali's Millions – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

6 All Image – Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.

7 Fifty Fathoms – Marginally slow to begin.  Raced wide into the front straight.

3 Bubbles And Brie – Raced wide into the front straight.  Checked off another runner approaching the turn out of the back straight.

Race 12 - MILLENNIUM STAR RACING MIXED 3/4 | 380m

1 Firefly Star – Slow to begin.  Bumped and checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked across heels on the turn into the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

2 Yuken Sunshine – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

3 Mr. Changretta – Checked off anther runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Improved on to heels in the front straight.

6 Rum And Hustle – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

7 Aletheia  – Bumped another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

8 Jimary Cricket – Tightened and bumped by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Checked from behind by another runner in the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.
