GENERAL
Innisfail Saturday 16th June 2018. Race 5 Benchmark 50 Handicap 1800m
Stewards today inquired into the reason why App. R Shred was dislodged from the gelding ONE SUNDAY on pulling up after passing the winning post. After hearing evidence from App. Shred and based on their own observations and the available patrol footage Stewards established that ONE SUNDAY had shifted in suddenly at that point causing App. Shred to become unbalanced and dislodged as a result. As no other rider was involved in the incident no further action was taken.
Due to threatening weather conditions and after consultation with the Atherton Turf Club, it was decided that in the best interests of safety for all concerned, the starting times of Races 2 to 5 be brought forward in an effort to ensure completion of the program.
