Race 1 – BJS PLUMBING & CIVIL CONTRACTING MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
The start of this race was delayed after Maxhenry, which had been standing in the barrier for some time, became fractious and dislodged App. S Gittos who sustained an injury to his right foot and was unable to fulfil his engagement. As a result Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of Maxhenry at 1.03pm. App. Gittos who was stood down on medical advice from his remaining engagements was transferred to a 2nd ambulance and transported to Atherton Hospital for assessment and will require a Medical Clearance prior to resuming race riding. Riding alterations were made as per Stewards Race Day Summary.
Diamozu – Fractious in the barrier. Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Raced greenly for the majority.
She Beats The Best – Slowly away.
Izumi – Raced wide throughout.
Kumari – Raced wide from the 650m.
Stewards delayed the declaration of Correct Weight to enable Jockey P Romeo who rode 2nd placegetter Izumi to view the photo finish print. After doing so Jockey Romeo confirmed he was satisfied with the Judge’s placings.
Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on Maxhenry be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed prior to 1,03pm be subject to deductions of 6 cents in the dollar win and 7 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket.
Race 2 – ROBERT STREET DENTAL PRACTICE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m
The start of this event was delayed due to the incident in Race 1.
Amuleto – Began awkwardly.
Elite Jet – Slowly away. Unable to muster pace in the early stages.
Dancing Diva – Raced wide for the majority. App. E Cass accidentally dropped her whip approaching the 100m.
Race 3 – HAYMANS ELECTRICAL & DATA SUPPLIERS CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m
Elite Label – Slowly away.
 
Shakuni – Shifted in abruptly on jumping.
 
Aguias - Shifted in abruptly on jumping.
 
Snooze Ya Lose - Raced wide for the majority.
 
Stewards delayed the declaration of Correct Weight to enable Mr. G Horner the Trainer of 4th  placegetter Elite Label to view the photo finish print. After doing so Mr. Horner confirmed he was satisfied with the Judge’s placings.
 
 
Race 4 – MCAULIFFE'S MENSLAND ATHERTON BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m
 
Ms. R Payne replaced the injured App. S Gittos as the rider of Stella Effort.
 
Shunter – Slowly away. Restrained off heels when over-racing near the 900m.
 
Hand Of Faith – Laid in momentarily near the 750m placing another runner in restricted room. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Spacex – Inconvenienced near the 750m when placed in restricted room by another runner which laid in momentarily. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Centro Superior - Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 5 – THE KAIRI HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
Shudakeptim was a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 11.45am due to no rider being available.
Johnny Fix It was a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 1.45pm due to no rider being available to replace the injured App. S Gittos.
Strada Grande - Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
Toff Rocks – Knuckled over soon after jumping and lost ground.
Watch Me Dazzle Em – Slowly into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
More Grit – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
This Girls On Fire – Became awkward for a few strides near the 350m when in clear running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
