Race 1: THANK YOU 2018/2019 SPONSORS CLASS 4 PLATE - 1000 metres
DUCK IN DUBAI – Jumped away awkwardly and hung out rounding the first turn.
ARCHADE – Jockey P. Hamblin was permitted by stewards to ride 1kg overweight. Slow to begin.
BARD OF ARMAGH – A late scratching at 1.05pm when the gelding refused to load after numerous attempts. Deductions where announced with correct weight as 23 cents in the dollar value of win bets and 23 cents in the dollar value of place bets. Trainer C. Austin was advised a barrier certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again. Trainer C. Austin stated the gelding would most probably be going for a long spell now.
BOINGO – Travelled wide for much of the event.
Race 2: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres
BLINKIN NOMORE – Jumped inwards and slow then travelled wide for much of the race.
FRIGHTENINGING DELAGO – Travelled wide for the majority and hung out rounding the home turn.
BIG RISING – Jumped away awkwardly and travelled wide for much of the event.
METTRE LE FEU – Jumped away slowly and awkwardly.
Race 3: UNION HOTEL QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
CHANGING CURRENCY – Slow into stride.
SNIP ‘N’ DRIFT – Travelled wide for much of the race.
FANTASTIC HALO – Travelled wide for the majority of the event.
RECONIS – Slipped with both back feet on jumping, losing considerable ground.
ANGRY DESERT – Travelled wide for much of the race.
Race 4: 2019 TAB BATTLE OF THE BUSH BARCALDINE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP - 1200 metres
KAKAKENNY – Slow into stride and lay in down the home straight being corrected on several occasions.
ZENDAYE – Awkward and slow to begin.
AVOID THE MISSUS – Hampered slightly in the home straight when an outside runner lay in.
BOLD PEAK – Travelled wide in the early stages.
HANOVER SQUARE – Lay in down the home straight under pressure hampering an inside runner.
TIMETUS – Held up for clear running approaching the 300m.
Race 5: COMMERCIAL HOTEL CLASS 6 PLATE - 1300 metres
TUXEDO BOY – Over raced in the early stages when the jockey was trying to settle the gelding then lay in over the concluding stages proving difficult to ride out.
SONG ONE – Slow to begin.
Race 6: OUR MATE MUTTO BM 55 HANDICAP – 1600 metres
P. Hamlin was the rider of MISS MARLO and permitted to ride 3kg overweight due to no other rider being available.
MISHANI CENTURION – Slow to begin.
THIRD ROCK – Jockey D. Evans was charged under AR132(7)(a)(ii) and fined the sum of $200 for using his whip 13 times prior to the 100m and 12 times after the 100m mark.
PETITE ELLE – The inside gate came back on the mare at the start causing the mare to get her head up for some distance after the start. Jockey B. Richardson requested the mare be declared a non-starter but after reviewing the limited head on footage and Stewards were not satisfied that the mare had been materially affected by the gate, was declared a runner.
