Race 1: WELCOME BACK TO THE GRASS TRACK CLASS 6 PLATE 1000 metres
There was a slight delay to the start as the reins on OUR GIRL TAMIYA broke loading the mare and had to be replaced.
ARCHADE – Slow away & slow into stride.
WICKED GRIMSHAW – Travelled wide for much of the race.
ALFIARTO – Travelled wide for much of the race.
SHADOW VISION – Slow to begin.
Race 2: BE OUR SPONSORS MAIDEN PLATE 1100 metres
SUPER SID – Reared prior to the gates opening & was awkward to begin.
ZEBONET – Dipped on jumping & hung out down the home straight.
DISCO LIGHTS – Slow to begin.
GREY RULES – Slow to begin.
VON’S HEROINE - Reared and dislodged Jockey J Rudd in the mounting yard prior and made contact with a gate. The mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching on vet’s advice at 2.10pm. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.49pm as following:
Win Bets – 19 cents
Place Bets – 20 cents
All monies bet after the Steward’s declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Trainer C Austin was advised that the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to it’s next future race start. A warning was also placed on the mare for its pre-race manners. Jockey J Rudd was assessed by QAS and was passed clear to fulfil his remaining engagements.
MON TOUT – Hung out rounding the home turn & then shifted in shortly after straightening.
Race 3: EASTER RACES 3RD APRIL 2021 BM 50 HANDICAP 1100 metres
ROCK PAPER SIZZLE - Prior to the beginning of the race, ROCK PAPER SIZZLE had dislodged Rider B Richardson on route to the barriers and had galloped some distance before making contact with the outside fence. The gelding was scratched on vet’s advice at 2.49pm. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.49pm as following:
Win Bets – 19 cents
Place Bets – 20 cents
All monies bet after the Steward’s declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Trainer B Richardson was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to any future race starts. Jockey B Richardson was cleared to fulfil her remaining riding engagements.
SKALD – Jockey P Hamblin was charged under AR132(7)(a)(ii), in that he used his whip 11 times prior to the 100m, 6 more than permitted. P Hamblin had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 21 days, to commence m/night 13/03/2021 to m/night 03/04/2021.
DRAGON IN THE NORTH – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race.
PHONZIA – Slow to begin.
OUR SAY – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the early & middle stages.
SURPRISE SELECTION – Jockey S Galvin was charged under AR132(7)(a)(ii), in that he used his whip 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted. S Galvin was fined a sum of $300.
Race 4: ALLPASS FAMILY OPEN HANDICAP 1200 metres
HEROISM – Contacted on jumping & placed in restricted room nearing the 850m as runners either side shifted ground.
VAN WINKEL – Over-raced in the early stages.
BENCHI PEGASUS – Slow into stride.
STAR SLIK – Shifted out at the 850m to avoid heels and contacted HEROISM in doing so.
ZILITOR – Jumped awkwardly contacting an inside runner then lay in approaching the 850m crowding Heroism for several strides.
Race 5: TAB TOK CUP 1ST MAY 2021 BM 60 HANDICAP 1300 metres
MUSIC AWARD – Over-raced in the early stages & finished tailed off. A post- race veterinary inspection showed no major abnormalities.
SIZZALATING – Travelled wide in the middle stages with no cover & lay in down the home straight,
SPARMAN – Slow to begin.
ZORRO MACHO – Slow into stride.
