General
Race 1: As App H English was riding at another venue, Stewards permitted App S Wilcock to ride CANID claiming only 2 ½ kgs of her 3kg allowance.  When no other rider was available, Jky R Oakford was permitted to ride LUSHNESS ½ kg over its allocated weight.

Race 4: When App N Seymour was incorrectly engaged as the rider for TONI’S LUCK, Stewards permitted Jky M Crawford to ride the mare. In taking no direct action against trainer W Kuskopf, Stewards acknowledged the limited number of riders attending today’s meeting.

Public address announcements were made regarding each of these changes.

Race 1: OPEN HDCP 850 Metres

EMPEROR MAXIMILIAN – difficult to load. Slow to begin.

MISTA BUSY – raced wide throughout.

MASTER DENHRO – raced in restricted room and obliged to steady near the 800 metres. Inclined to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.

LUSHNESS – correct weight delayed when Stewards viewed the patrol footage to determine if the mare was afforded a fair start. After hearing submissions from starter Mr B Steindel and viewing available footage it was established LUSHNESS ducked its head and stood flat-footed as the start was effected. Under the circumstances LUSHNESS was declared a runner and Trainer D Rideout advised the mare would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.

BEL SELEVA – raced wide throughout.

MONTE LAGO – slow to begin.

Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE  1090 Metres

ECHELETTE – hampered near the 800 metres and obliged to steady from heels when MISS NASTY shifted in when not fully clear. Laid out under pressure near the 100 metres and bumped TOP KNOT.

TOP KNOT – inclined to lay in during the early stages of the event. Bumped near the 100 metres.

MISS NASTY – near 800 metres shifted in when not fully clear of ECHELETTE. Rider N Summers was subsequently reprimanded for carelessness under AR137(a) and advised to show greater care under similar circumstances.

SERIOUS SYMPHONY – slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: CLASS 1 HDCP 1090 Metres

MISS SABATINI – when asked to comment on the below market performance App T Doyle stated after being crossed shortly after the start the mare resented the sand kickback and was reluctant to stretch out from that point onwards. Trainer D Gardiner confirmed MISS SABATANI was coughing for some time following the event, with symptoms consistent with the report from App Doyle.

Race 4: CLASS B HDCP 1212 Metres

DAUNTING QUEEN – App T Doyle was reprimanded for use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres.

MONACO DREAM – raced wide throughout.

MISS FLAWLESS – slow to begin.

Race 5: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1212 Metres
