Race 1 – Morgans Benchmark 50 Handicap 850m
 
The start of this race was delayed when LUCIFER’S ANGEL dislodged its rider (App H.English) on route to the barriers. After being re-captured LUFICER’s ANGEL returned to the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared fit to race. At the start apprentice H.English was examined by the on course QAS and was unfit to fulfil her engagement as she had sustained an injury to her right fore arm. Subsequently LUCIFER’S ANGEL was declared a late scratching at 1.30pm.
 
Stewards ordered that all monies invested on LUCIFERS ANGEL to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply for successful bets:

4c win for first place (8 FLOSSY TOP)
6c place for first place (8 FLOSSY TOP)
6c place for second place (5 NEED FINANCE)
 
Apprentice H. English was transported to Bundaberg Hospital for further examination.
 
NOT TONIGHT DEAR – Hampered on jumping.
 
FLOSSY TOP – Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start elected to shift wider on the track to avoid kickback.
 
TELLOFF – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2 – The Ulton Cup Maiden Plate 1090m
 
The start of this race was delayed to allow for a replacement ambulance to arrive on course.
 
MARREW RONNIE was declared a late scratching at 1.50pm due no rider being available.
Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MARREW RONNIE to be refunded in full with the following deductions for successful bets to apply:

16c for the win for first (3 HEZAGIGOLO)
18c for the place for first (3 HEZAGIGOLO)
18c for the second place getter (2 EL NINO’S CHOICE)
 
CRAIGLEA MALACHI – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Bumped another runner.
 
BUCK’S ME BOY – Raced wide throughout.
 
EL NINO’S CHOICE – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
HEZAGIGOLO – Lunged forward prior to the start being effected. Was bumped by another runner and was subsequently slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3 – Optus Open Handicap 1090m
 
THE MECHANIC – As App H.English was injured Stewards permitted N.Summers to be the replacement rider. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 4 – NAB Class B Handicap 1212m
 
HINTERLAND SAM – Raced wide throughout.
