PRETTY RICKY – Had to be eased over the final stages when tightened for room and taken inwards.

LITTLE NATURAL – Hung out badly approaching and rounding the home turn and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stable representative Mrs Howard was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards.

MING HOI GLORIOUS – Had to be checked over the final stages when tightened for room. Apprentice C. Frater-Hill, the rider of MENTAL AS ANYTHING, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that over the final stages she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of PRETTY RICKY, which was taken inwards across the rightful running of MING HOI GLORIOUS, which had to be checked. Apprentice Frater-Hill’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 9 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 24 November and expire at midnight on Monday 3 December 2018. In determining penalty, stewards took into account apprentice Frater-Hill’s good record and that the interference was in the low range.

CLUB SODA – Had to be restrained off the heels of LITTLE NATURAL passing the 600m when that runner commenced to weaken. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse cast the near fore plate in running and returned to the enclosure with a cut to the nearside nostril.

MIGHTY MOOSE – Reared at the start and lost ground.

BEHIND THE THISTLE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and was disappointed for a run near the 100m between MING HOI GLORIOUS and PRETTY RICKY, which shifted in slightly. K. BOBBY AXELROD –Trainer B. Robinson was questioned regarding the horse’s improved performance. Mr Robinson explained that the horse was better suited stepping up in distance to 1100m and it has shown some improvement in its work since its first start. He added that BOBBY AXELROD is still immature and as such he was not overly confident in today’s race. Stewards noted his explanation.

MAJAQUA – Jumped awkwardly.

BROOKER AVENUE – Became fractious and reared over on the way to the barriers, dislodging rider J. Orman, and after being examined by the veterinary surgeon was cleared to race.
