Race 1: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM AQUIS FARM MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
ODDFELLOW – Bumped on jumping.
 
VICTORY STAR – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of the rider and was passed fit to race. Slow to begin. Trainer B. Robinson was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for being uncompetitive. The veterinary surgeon reported post-race that the gelding was showing some sign of lameness. Trainer B. Robinson will be advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next start.
 
MY RUBY ROSE – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
THE LAST ROAD – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ODDFELLOW. Overraced in the early and middle stages and as a result raced wide without cover until near the 600m.
 
YOSHIKO – Trainer B. Robinson was advised that the mare would be ineligible to compete at metropolitan and provincial meetings until such time as its country form improves.
 
COOLWEDGE – Shifted in under pressure near the 200m, obliging the rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.
 
IBERIAN LACE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SMARTCELLI – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped MY RUBY ROSE.
 
Race 2: RECOVER ON NEW YEARS DAY @ AQUIS BEAUDESERT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
As R. Wiggins advised that he would not be riding due to illness, C. Eaton was substituted as the rider of FANTASAY. Jockey Wiggins was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding.
 
MEXICAN YELL – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MS ORBITAL SPIRIT.
 
FANTASAY – Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
MS ORBITAL SPIRIT – Bumped at the start. Eased near the 900m when placed in restricted room to the inside of MEXICAN YELL.
 
VANZANT – When racing wide in the early stages was allowed to improve forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 800m.
 
Race 3: SPILL THE BEANS @ AQUIS FARM C,G&E BM55 H’CAP – 1100M
 
ORLEANS – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TIN’S POCKET – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Cast the off hind plate in running.
 
DUBAWI SNIPER – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
LWAZI – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn. Cast the near hind plate in running.
 
ANAKYN DARAXES – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 4: XXXX AUSTRALIA DAY @ AQUIS BEAUDESERT CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
 
SCHINDLER – Held up after passing the 400m until entering the home straight.
 
SILENT STATUE – Overraced at the heels of WILL’S BID and had to be restrained on a couple of occasions approaching and passing the 800m.
 
TEMUJIN’S MOON – Bumped shortly after the start. Had to be steadied to avoid heels when improving over the concluding stages.
 
MEGASHOT – Raced wide in the early stages before being allowed to improve forward to assume the lead near the 900m.
 
THE PONTSTER – Raced three wide without cover.
 
YOUL BEATEM – Bumped on jumping.
 
LUCKY CHAMPION – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with YOUL BEATEM.
 
Following this event, R. Plumb was examined by the paramedics and stood down from his remaining engagement in Race 7.
 
Race 5: AQUIS FARM SELLS @ MM F&M BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1100M
 
Trainer M. Eggleston was fined $100 for failing to declare apprentice J. Murphy as the rider of ROSELLA GIRL by the prescribed time.
 
CAPITAL CITY – B. Ainsworth reported at scale that it was not her intention to race as far back in the field today, however, after  beginning awkwardly was obliged to settle further back than anticipated.
 
LEICA CELEBRE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LILY AMORA – Rider C. Frater-Hill reported to stewards that the filly had a tendency to lay in throughout the event and when placed under pressure in the home straight she was put at a disadvantage. She added that the filly was first up today since 2 November and would take fitness  benefit going forward. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
 
ROSELLA GIRL – Rider J. Murphy reported at scale that he settled in a rearward position as instructed. He added that he was briefly held up at a crucial stage near the 300m before being afforded clear running. He further added that the mare was doing its best work over the concluding stages and worked to the finish line strongly.
 
NOT TONIGHT DEAR – Blundered on jumping away.
 
TELLOFF – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
VOANABA – Became restless in its barrier as the start was effected, began awkwardly and lost considerable ground.
 
ALL OUR WIVES – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 6: PURCHASE ULTIMATE AUSSIE PACK FOR XXXX AUSTRALIA DAY BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1650M
 
Trainer G. Cornish was fined $100 for failing to declare apprentice J. Hodge as the rider of CHARLIE CAT by the prescribed time.
 
CATCH ME LATAR – Bumped at the start.
 
CHRISSY BE – Tightened for room at the start. Trainer B. Robinson was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for being uncompetitive.
 
Race 7: AQUIS FARM SELLS WINNERS CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1400M
 
As R. Plumb had been stood down following his ride in Race 4, M. Palmer was substituted as the rider of BACCHUR.
 
CHIEF HAVOC – Bumped another runner at the start. Raced three wide without cover until obtaining cover near the 600m. When afforded the opportunity to comment on the horse’s performance, jockey J. Stanley stated that after being obliged to race wide throughout the event the gelding was still disappointing in its overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer G. Newham advised that the gelding may not have appreciated today’s firm surface and he indicated that he will now send the gelding for a spell.
 
SEQUABLUR – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
WASHINGTON STREET – Shifted in abruptly at the start.
 
RAYMAX – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted out when making the turn at the 800m awkwardly and bumped heavily with another runner.
 
STARCASTER – Began awkwardly and made contact with the outside barrier partition and then blundered shortly after. Forced wider near the 300m when CHIEF HAVOC shifted out when weakening. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHADYVALE STAR – Shifted out abruptly at the start.
 
RIVER OF LOVE – Restrained to obtain cover behind ART SHE QUICK near the 800m when racing in a four-wide position in the early stages.
 
ASTRONOMIC – Bumped by CHIEF HAVOC at the start. Bumped heavily by RAYMAX which shifted out when making the turn at the 800m awkwardly.
 
ART SHE QUICK – Raced wide throughout.
