General: As both app D Graham and app T Townsend were injured and jockey S Sweedman was unable to attend due to transportation difficulties, riding changes were made as per the Race-day summary sheet.
 
 
Race 1: Class B HDCP 1050 Metres
 
CHAMBERLAIN – laid in despite the efforts of its rider near the 600 metres tightening MAKUBA which had to be steadied, and CARROCK which had to be checked.
 
TAMINICK GAP – declared a late scratching at 1:15 pm due to the non-arrival of Jockey S Sweedman.  Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on TAMINICK GAP to be refunded with deductions of 19 cents the win and 16 cents the place face value of all tickets to apply.  SPs are not subject to deduction.
 
HOVE ACTUALLY – slow to begin.
 
MAKUBA – tightened for racing room near the 600 metres. 
 
CARROCK – tightened and checked near the 600 metres.  Following the event it was noted the mare had sustained abrasions to the near hind leg. 
 
 
Race 2: BENCHMARK 65 HDCP 1050 Metres
 
BRAT ATTACK – declared a late scratching at 2:05pm due to non-arrival as result of a float breakdown. Contact from trainer B Murray advising of this issue was made to RISA at approximately 11:45am, however due to no internet or mobile phone coverage in the vicinity of the racecourse this message was unable to be conveyed to race-day officials. Stewards ordered all bets on BRAT ATTACK to be refunded in full with deductions of 12 cents the win and 14 cents the place face value of all tickets to apply.  SPs are not subject to deduction. 
 
MASTER DENHRO – jockey M Crawford reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle today’s firm racing surface.  Raced three-wide for the majority of the event.
 
SNIPSTREAM – laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
AVALANCHE WARNING – raced wide in the early stages of the event.  Made the home turn awkwardly.
 
GOLFING – held up for clear running over the final 150 metres of the event.
 
 
Race 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1175 Metres
 
BUCK’S ME BOY – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.  Lost the off fore plate in running. 
 
FOR THE BOYS – declared a late scratching at 2:25 pm due to no jockey being available.  As betting had not commenced on this event no deductions were applicable.
 
AKLAVIK – shifted in under pressure near the 100 metres inconveniencing RINGO’S MAGIC.  Rider P Romeo was advised to exercise care.
 
HARLEIGH – jumped in at the start.
 
JORDAN’S SWAN – tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
RITZ AND GLITZ – jumped out at the start.
 
SIOUXSIE – slow to begin.  Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
SPEZIA LADY – slow to begin.
 
NERINA – declared a late scratching at 12:30 pm on veterinary advice after the filly had sustained injuries while being transported to the track.  Trainer J Phelan was advised NERINA would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.
 
RUN THE CUTTER – slow to begin.
 
RINGO’S MAGIC – hampered near the 100 metres.
 
 
Race 4: CLASS 2 HDCP 1175 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow jockey K Gates, rider of KASTANOS to view the start of the race.  Correct weight was further delayed to allow H Phillips, rider of third placegetter WINDQUEST to view the photo-finish image for second.  After doing so, correct weight declared on the semaphored placings.
 
MOUNTEBANK – jumped out at the start.
 
WARNER’S LANDING – crowded on jumping and lost ground.  Made the home turn awkwardly. 
 
SCRIVANO – declared a late scratching at 2:40 pm when no rider was available.  As betting had not commenced on the event, deductions were not applicable.
 
REBEL SAGA – declared a late scratching at 3:05 pm when no rider was available.  As betting had not commenced on the event, deductions were not applicable.
 
OLIVIA ’N’ ME – inclined to over race in the early stages of the event.  Laid out near the 800 metres. 
 
DAISY PEARL – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
SEREMASA – jumped in at the start.
 
NATIONAL JEWEL – slow to begin.
 
DANISH DICTION – checked when tightened at the start and lost ground.
 
KASTANOS – tightened shortly after the start.  Raced wide for the majority of the event.  Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. 
 
FLYING SEBA – raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1740 Metres
 
MR OPPURRTUNIST – slow to begin.
 
HARADIFY – shifted in near the 800 metres despite the efforts of its rider and hampered I’M FABULOUS.
 
THE IRONS – app J Morrow was fined the sum of $200 for use of the whip more than five times prior to the 100 metres. 
 
I’M FLAVULOUS – hampered and lost ground near the 800 metres.
 
IF BY CHANCE – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
ROCKING OSSIE – stood flat footed at the start and lost significant ground. In view of the gelding’s recent poor record in this regard trainer G Banks was advised ROCKING OSSIE must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again. Mr Banks indicated connections would be now be reviewing the immediate racing future of ROCKING OSSIE.
