Race 1: WOODS TYRE SERVICE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
MR PALOMINO – Slow to begin.
NERINA – Slow to begin. Apprentice A Ross dropped her whip at the 800m.
MOSSMAID – Permission was granted for Apprentice E Smith to ride 1kg over due to no other available rider.
Race 2: SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE CL B HANDICAP – 1000M
The start of this race was delayed approximately 45 minutes after MORE GEE suffered a catastrophic injury en route to the barriers and required immediate veterinary attention and was a late scratching.
N Nelson, the rider of MORE GEE, was stood down by Ambulance officers for her remaining engagements.
All riders who were present at the time of MORE GEE’s injury were interviewed and examined by the on course Ambulance officials and cleared to fulfill their remaining engagements.
All runners were pre race examined by the on course veterinarian and passed fit to start upon returning into the enclosure.
ALL NATIVE – Apprentice E Smith reported her mount didn’t handle the dirt surface and added that the lengthy delay may have been a factor in her mount’s poor performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BROOKVILLE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore. Jockey N Summers reported that BROOKVILLE lost its off fore shoe during the event. Trainer H Forster was advised a veterinary certificate would be required prior to BROOKVILLE’s next start.
BULLET LAD – Permission was granted for jockey T Bannon to ride 1 ½ kg over due to no other available rider.
Race 3: CAN DO PEST CONTROL BM65 HANDICAP – 1200M
MUIRON – Laid out under pressure in the straight.
Race 4: CLERMONT RC APPRECIATION BM50 HANDICAP – 1400M
GREY FALCON – Slow to muster speed.
SFILZA – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare had bled from both nostrils and to be lame in the hind legs. Trainer J Doolan was advised of the provisions of AR79(4) and also advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to SFILZA starting again.
OUR SAY – Declared a late scratching after N Nelson was stood down and unable to take her mount at 12.30pm.
Following the running of this race, Apprentice A Ross was stood down by Ambulance Officials after displaying signs of dehydration. Apprentice Ross was subsequently transferred to Clermont Base Hospital for further observation and changes were permitted as per raceday summary. Apprentice Ross was further advised a medical would be required prior to her next engagements.
Race 5: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB OPEN HANDICAP – 1400M
MONEY AD – Due to Apprentice Ross being unable to fulfill her engagement, Apprentice D Graham was permitted to replacer her.
