Race 1: JOE & PAULINE BAKHASH MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m


LINGY – Near the 100m had to be steadied when crowded for room by TZAR BOMBA which shifted in. Jockey B Richardson was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear.

MATCHFOX – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Jockey J Esser reported that his mount didn’t handle today’s track surface.

TZAR BOMBA – Shifted in under riding approaching the 100m.

BE PRESENT – Slow to begin.

SHE’S WINNIE BLUE – Began awkwardly. Hung out throughout and proved difficult to ride. Trainer S Royes was advised that a warning be placed against the mare for its racing manners.

THE PILLAR – Slow in stride and was unable to muster speed in the early stages. Jockey P Romeo reported that in his opinion the gelding didn’t handle today’s track surface. Raced in a rearward position throughout and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer G Tipping was advised that a warning be placed against the gelding for its poor performance.

Jockey B Richardson’s pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used the whip eleven times prior to the 100m, six more than permitted. Jockey Richardson’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of two weeks commencing midnight 17 October 2020 and to expire midnight 31 October 2020.











Race 2: JOHN BULLEY & JUDY KEYES MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (1) 1400m


DARK ARCHER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

AL MAH ROCKET – Began awkwardly.

FOR THE RECORDS – Raced wide throughout.

NITRO CITY – Raced wide throughout.

MISS SIZZ – Hampered approaching the home turn when attempting a narrow run to the inside of AL MAH ROCKET.

UNDER RESTRAINT – Near the 800m had to be eased when in restricted room.

HUGS ‘N’ KISSES – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.







Race 3: TOPX CLONCURRY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (2) 1400m


KING LANDON – Raced wide throughout and rounding the home turn was forced wider on the course by WRITER’S BLOCK which hung out.

SILENTUS – Slow to begin.

IGNITE THE MAGIC – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

HICKSON – Jockey T Hill reported that in his opinion the gelding resented the kickback throughout.

ECHELON ROSE – Jockey J Babarovich was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip seven times prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.

WRITER’S BLOCK – Hung out rounding the home turn. Trainer R Hermann was advised that a warning be placed against the mare for its racing manners.






Race 4: CENTRAL HOTEL CLONCURRY BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m

After arriving at the barriers MEAZZA underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the near foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of Stewards on veterinary advice at 3.42pm. All bets placed on MEAZZA were to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply for all successful bets placed prior to 3.42pm.

LORD WINDEMERE – Bumped on jumping.

BOOTS ‘N’ AWE – Rounding the home turn put in a couple of awkward strides and became unbalanced and then was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer D Ballard was advised that a veterinary clearance of soundness would be required prior to being permitted to trail or race again. Trainer D Ballard advised Stewards that she would consult with the owners regarding its racing future.

TAIPEI DANCER – Raced wide throughout and near the 150m was hampered by HOLOGRAM which hung out.

ZENDAYE – Raced wide throughout.

HOLOGRAM – Hung out after passing the 400m and near the 150m whilst hanging out crowded TAIPEI DANCER. Trainer S Royes was advised that a warning be placed against the gelding for its racing manners.

ESCADAY – Raced wide throughout.

BOLD SAM – Began awkwardly and shifted out.

SUCH A DRAMA QUEEN – Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.




Race 5: DANIELS PASTORAL HOLDINGS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000m


EMBATTLED – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

SIZZLESON – Slow into stride. Failed to maintain a position with the main body of the field in the early and middle stages.

WARRUMBUNGLE – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout and failed to maintain a position with the main body of the field in the early and middle stages.









Race 6: CURLEY CATTLE TRANSPORT COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN QUALITY HANDICAP 1000m

The start was delayed when after arriving at the barriers, SEBRING EXPRES underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the off foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of Stewards on veterinary advice at 4.54pm. All bets place on SEBRING EXPRESS were to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply for all successful bets placed prior to 4.54pm.

WORLD OF PAIN – Raced wide throughout and then hung in over the final 250m and proved difficult to ride out.








Race 7: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/WESTERN TRUCK GROUP CLONCURRY CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1600m


LOUD ENOUGH – Raced wide throughout.

CHARLIE CAT – Fractious in barriers and as the start was effected reared slightly and lost ground.

SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Raced wide in the early stages.

ALMIGHTY GOLD – Raced wide throughout.

DO I HAVE TO – Slow to begin and then raced wide throughout.

SYD’S COIN – Slow into stride and then failed to maintain a position with the main body of the field and continued to lose ground and finished a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the off hind leg and bled from the near nostril. Trainer G Tipping was advised that a veterinary clearance is required and the gelding must gallop over 1000m in the presence of Stewards prior to being permitted to trial or race again.

FIRE RANGER – Raced wide after passing the 600m.
