Race 1: POISON CREEK STATION & DIA TREME RESOURCES MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
SIMPLE MELODY- As this mare was resuming after a prolonged absence from racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
GREYSERENE- Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
PRINCESS GLEE- Momentarily restrained when racing in restricted room approaching the 800m.
 
SERIOUS MOVES- Crowded by another runner approaching the 800m and subsequently shifting in marginally momentarily tightening another runner.
 
BIKIE CHIC- Shifted in marginally approaching the 800m turn momentarily tightening runners to its inside. App E Cass was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
 
 
Race 2: SCOTTS EARTHMOVING & BULK HAULAGE/COOKTOWN HARDWARE QTIS RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP 1000m
 
SPEED EIGHT- Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Obliged to restrain passing the winning post when a runner to its outside shifted in.
 
SIR ROLAND- Shifted in passing the winning post tightening a runner to its inside. App E Cass was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident.
 
ROSE CLIP- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
 
 
Race 3: COOK SHIRE COUNCIL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1290m
 
PREESIDENTIAL JOY- As the gelding was resuming after a prolonged absence from racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
OCTOBER STORM- Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening another runner. App R Shred reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout the event.
 
MUNRO- Tightened between runner on jumping away. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 4: LIONS DEN HOTEL OPEN HANDICAP 1290m
 
OUR ATOM- Finished off disappointingly. Jockey F Edwards advised that when DREAM I CAN, the eventual winner, took up the bit and set a genuine pace throughout his mount was unable to see out the distance in todays event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 5: COOKTOWN RSL MEMORIAL CLUB BRACELET CLASS B HANDICAP 1400m
 
DANCE AROUND- As the mare raced on the 3rd November 2020 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Inclined to lay out rounding the 1200m turn.
 
MISPRINT- Began awkwardly. Unable to muster the early pace needed to maintain contact with the field. Finished off fairly.
 
SWEET JUNE- Shifted wider from the 800m.
 
STYLE LINE- Raced wide throughout. Performed below market expectations. Jockey F Edwards advised that his instructions were to have the mare in a forward position and in riding to those instructions he was obliged to race wide for a majority of the race and when asked for a finishing effort upon entering the home straight his mount failed to respond to his urgings. Jockey Edwards added that the mare may have resented todays firm track conditions. Trainer A Holmes verified the instructions and was unable to offer any tangible reason as to the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 6: COOKTOWN BOWLS CLUB COOKTOWN CUP BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1760m
 
BALMACEDA- As the gelding raced on the 3rd November 2020, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
ROCK SPUR- Shifted in on jumping.
 
WE JUST LOVE IT- Raced wide in the early stages. Performed below expectations. Jockey F Edwards reported that the gelding failed to respond to his urgings in the middle stages and failed to let down at all down the running. Trainer J Ryan advised that connections would now consider the geldings immediate racing future.
