GENERAL
 
Prior to the running of Race 1 jockey M. Abe became ill and had to be attended to by the on-course paramedics. Jockey Abe was stood down from his engagements and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
As a result of the delay due to paramedics attending to jockey Abe, the start times of Races 1 to 6 were put back one race, with Race 7 rescheduled to start at 5:57 pm.
 
Race 1: PICCONE’S VILLAGE ON PEASE STREET OPEN H’CAP – 950M
 
TUSCAN FALLS – Apprentice A. Thompson accidentally dropped his whip near the 250m.
 
Race 2: TRIPLE M CAIRNS MAIDEN H’CAP – 950M
 
LADY TIFFANY, which became fractious after leaving the parade yard, dislodging apprentice N. Yadi, who was uninjured in the incident, and galloping a considerable distance, was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2:48 pm. The start of this race was delayed as a result of this. Prior to the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on LADY TIFFANY be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:48 pm:

1 cents in the dollar for place of winner #6
1 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #1
 
Trainer Mr A. Bailey was advised that the mare will be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
MUZANBOAL ROUGE – Inconvenienced when bumped by another runner near the 300m.
 
FRED’S GIFT – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
 
LINNET MOON – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
KEGSY – Inclined to lay in soon after straightening when hampered by another runner which shifted out. Bumped with another runner near the 300m.
 
REVERBERATING – Dislodged jockey N. Nelson on the way to the barriers, causing a further delay to the start. The horse was inspected by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Shifted out on straightening, hampering another runner.
 
WISTARI – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 3: NORTHERN BEACHES IRRIGATION CLASS 1 H’CAP – 950M
 
COUNTLESS ROCK – Lost its near fore plate soon after the start.
 
RED FACETS – Shifted out abruptly after beginning awkwardly.
 
YANKEE ROLLER – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 4: HOSPITALITY LAUNDRY SERVICES QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1250M
 
TOY was a late scratching at 4:06 pm on veterinary advice after being found to be lame in  both forelegs behind the barriers. Prior to the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on TOY be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 4:06 pm:

0 cents in the dollar for the win #7
1 cents in the dollar for place of winner #7
2 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4
1 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #5
 
Trainer M. Jokic was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next start.
 
LAGA LAD – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
JACK REACHER – Hampered on jumping by another runner which began awkwardly.
 
DE LADY DELUXE – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
LANZOFFANY – Unable to obtain clear running soon after entering the home straight and was again disappointed near the 200m.
 
NOBLE SQUAW – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Performed below market expectations. Jockey Ms C. Jokic advised that her instructions were not to go forward from the wide barrier and in her opinion the horse was disappointing. She further that being first up over 1250m on the heavy track may have also had a bearing on its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ARTE ET MARTE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 5: JAYCO CAIRNS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1500M
 
COUSIN MUSCLES – Raced wide in the middle stages. Apprentice R. Shred advised that in her opinion the horse had been disappointing today and failed to respond to her urgings from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  
 
DONAVIA – Bumped with another runner approaching the winning post.
 
COLLYWOBBLE – Hampered when attempting a tight run near the 200m.
 
RANGERZANE – Bumped with another runner approaching the winning post.
 
RATHDOWNEY AVENUE – Raced very ungenerously in the early and middle stages, throwing its head in the air.
 
TRY BEFORE DUBAI – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
NEAR THE CITY – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 6: RED ENERGY PROMOTIONS CLASS 2 H – 1250M
 
SHUNTER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
UNCHARTERED – Slowly away. Raced wide from the 600m.
 
NICK’S NIGHT OUT – Slowly away. Buffeted between runners soon after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
IRISH HEART – Slowly away.
 
SUPAMETEOR – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 7: CAIRNS SHEET METAL BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 1250M
 
AWAKENINGS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
AROUND THE MOON – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg and the near hind leg. Trainer Ms B. Thomson advised stewards that the gelding would be retired from racing immediately, nonetheless she was informed that a veterinary clearance would be required should circumstances change.
 
PRICKLES – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
THE BEE’S KNEES – Became awkward near the 1000m after changing stride.
 
CASHED UP BULLY – Slowly away after becoming fractious just prior to the start being effected.
