The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the connections of the fourth place getter ZOE IS THE BEST lodged a protest against the third place getter WRITTEN GUARENTEE alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the available patrol footage, it was established that although WRITTEN GUARENTEE did shift out dictating the line of ZOE IS THE BEST, sole blame for the shift could not be contributed to the runner as its line was too being dictated by pressure from runners to its inside. On these grounds, Stewards dismissed the protest declaring correct weight on the judges semaphored placings.
