Trainer M. Boland was fined $100 under AR.114 for failing to scratch HALLSIDE HOT STUFF by the prescribed time.
 
Trainer J. Gregory was fined $200 under LR67 for failing to declare a jockey by the prescribed time on both COPPER SUNSET and TWO SHADES. 
 
 
Race 1:ICON STEEL COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP – 1100m
 
The start of this race was delayed when BEAU TIRAGE refused to proceed to the barriers. BEAU TIRAGE was declared a late scratching by order of the steward at 11:39am. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in BEAU TIRAGE be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
0 cents in the dollar for the win - #8
2 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #8
3 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #2
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #7
 
Trainer D. Corbett was advised the gelding would require a trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to race.
 
The start was further delayed when WHISTLIN’ ARROW proved difficult to load.
 
CHRISTOVAO – Slow to begin.
 
WHISTLIN’ ARROW – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Apprentice I. Teh was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip 7 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
BRUTUS – Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages.
 
KOTA FLYER – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
GOSSIAUX – Jockey H. Phillips was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip 9 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
MONTEVIDEO – Tailed off over the concluding stages. A postrace veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore fetlock. Trainer W. Louden was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to returning to racing.
 
 
 
Race 2: WESTERN DOWNS MARINE & CANVAS FILLIES & MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP – 1100m
 
The start of this event was delayed for the broadcast of an inner-state racing event.
 
KAORU PRINCESS – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly during the early stages. Pulled up shortly following the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed filly lame, sustaining an injury to the off fore pastern. Trainer J. Edwards was advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate prior to retuning to racing.
 
SPIRIT’S FIRST – Jumped with its head in the air. Laid in during the early stages of the home straight.
 
HEY DOLL – Knuckled on jumping.
 
STRAWBERRY DELUXE – Shifted out under pressure at the early stages of the home straight resulting in STAR ADELE steading to avoid heels.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 3:TOM FRITH MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
POINTSTOHAPPINESS – Began awkwardly.
 
THAT’S’ HER I THINK – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Approaching the 1200m Jockey G. Goomany was dislodged and was subsequently transported to hospital. Replacement’s as per steward’s summary. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Stewards opened an inquiry into the incident, taking initial evidence from Jockey G. Geran, Apprentice T. Wheeler and Apprentice I. Rabjones, although adjourned to allow Jockey G. Goomany to be present.
 
MAHA MUSTANG – Approaching the 50m shifted out resulting in another runner  having to steady from heels..
 
PAT’S GIRL – Laid out under pressure during early stages of the home straight.
 
REDZEB – Began awkwardly. Jockey S. Lacy was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip 8 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
BOILING – Jockey P. Hamblin was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m.
 
EFFEXX – Steadied from heels approaching the 50m when MAHA MUSTANG shifted out. Jockey B. Newport the rider of MAHA MUSTANG was advised to exercise more care.
 
Race 4:DALBY & NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB INC. BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
PATRICK’S ME MATE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
HIGHTOWER – Began awkwardly.
 
AKLAVIK - Hung out throughout proving different to ride during the early and middle stages. Trainer G. Schrader was advised gelding would require a trial to the satisfaction by stewards prior to its next start.  
 
APITHANOS – Raced generously approaching the 1000m whilst being restraining to obtain cover.
 
WHISTLINDIXIE LAD – Dislodged apprentice I. Teh in the preliminary. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently passed fit to start. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Approaching the 500m was forced to steady from heels for a short distance. Trainer P. Moncreiff was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its pre-race manners.
 
Race 5:SOUTHSIDE BUTCHERY & BUTCHERS PANTRY MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1100m
 
TOP TINKA – Slow to begin.
 
CUTABRI – Began awkwardly.
 
MADCALL – Approaching 900m was bumped by another runner to the outside and became unbalanced for a short distance.
 
GEM SETTER – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
THE GOLDEN SOUL – Dislodged Apprentice I. The in the mounting yard, making contact with the enclosure fence. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently passed fit to start. Trainer P. Moncrieff was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its prerace manners. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SHORT SARA – Shifted out abruptly shortly after the start.
 
I’M CALLIN’ DIBS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery, displaying signs of the thumps.
 
CAMARILLO – As the gelding had not started in the twelve months prior to todays event it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination were it was subsequently passed fit to start. Weakened heavily over concluding stages, taking no competitive part. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance, trainer G. Arnold advised that he was not dissatisfied with todays performance and believed the gelding would be more suited to a shorted distance in future. Jockey B. Newport advised that after beginning well, the gelding failed to respond when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. Stewards noted both explanations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. 
 
 
Race 6:HENRY FAMILY MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1100m
 
FIVE CHERRYS – Raced with its head in the air during the early stages. Leaving 500m shifted out making heavy contact with another runner.
 
COPPER SUNSET – Hung out through majority. Trainer G. Gregory was advised a warning would be placed on the colt.
 
REMEMBER BELLA – Stood awkwardly in barriers. Slow to begin.  Tightened by another runner to the inside shortly after the start.
 
ROWLING – Began awkwardly.Tightened by another runner to the inside shortly after the start. Approaching the 1100m Jockey S. Lacy accidently dropped her outside reign for short distance. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
WHITSUNDAY LAD – Shifted in shortly after the start and tightened other runners to the outside.
 
CROSBY ROAD – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the outside and lost ground. When questioned regarding the below market expectations performance jockey R. Goltz advised after beginning poorly his mount failed to respond under hard riding in his opinion resented the nose band. Trainer S. Dwyer could offer no explanation for the disappointing run.
 
 
Race 7:ERGON ENERGY PLOUGH INN CUP MAIDEN PLATE – 1400m
 
The race was delayed when TWO SHADES proved difficult to load. Trainer J. Gregory was advised with a warning would be paced on the gelding.
 
The race was further delayed when STONELEIGH JACKSON refused to load and was scratched by order of the stewards at 4:05pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in STONELEIGH JACKSON to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
3 cents in the dollar for the win - #10
2 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #10
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #4
6 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #6
 
Trainer S. Mesken was advised the gelding would need to obtain a barrier certificate prior to returning to racing.
 
 
WITHOUT CHOICE – Hung out rounding the home turn. Inclined to lay out during the home straight despite the best efforts of its rider.
 
FROM THE GONG – Approaching the 1100m bumped hindquarters and became unbalanced when TOTAL DELIGHT shifted in. Apprentice I. Rabjones ,the rider of TOTAL DELIGHT, was advised to exercise more care.
 
TWO SHADES – Raced wide without cover.
 
TOTAL DELIGHT – Raced keen throughout the early stages.
 
D’OR DAME – Jockey S. Lacy was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 6 time prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 8:TAB DALBY CUP – 1400m
 
SAME OLD – Held up from the 400m until early stages of the home straight.
 
HAVASHOUT – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside. Shifted out at 850m making contact with another runner. Upon straightening was tightened for room and lost ground for a short distance.
 
TABARD – Bumped by another runner to the outside rounding the home turn.
 
SPLITZ – Raced wide without cover throughout. Made contact with another runner rounding the home turn.
 
BRYAN – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ATOUCHMORE – Bumped by another runner at the 800m.
 
Race 9:DALBY POWDER COATING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 800m
 
POETIC DRAGON – Began awkwardly.
 
VICEMAN – Began awkwardly forcing another runner wider onto heels, resulting in that runner losing ground.
 
ALL SPUR – Forced wider by another runner to the inside on jumping. Hung out throughout. Shifted out the 600m forcing AFTER THE STORM wider on the track. Trainer B. Phillips was advised a warning would be placed on the mare.  
 
BRIS VEGAS – Checked from heels and lost ground as a result of another runner to the inside shifting out upon jumping.
 
BEACH CLUB – Slow into stride.
 
SECONDOFMAY – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight placing another runner in restricted room for a short distance.
 
GOOD GRAB – Knuckled upon jumping.
 
RAKU’S SECRET – Placed in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 100m.
