Race 1: SUPPORT THE DALBY DEVILS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m
HALEIGHOZAE – Slow to begin.
SHADY SHAMUS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Tailed off from the 800m taking no further completive part in the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer T. Maloney was advised a non-competitive warning would be placed on the gelding
MY BOY MISCHE – Slow to begin and lost ground.
BLUE CORNER – Began awkwardly.
AMOUR VOLE – Over raced throughout the early and middle stages.
GO WANDJI – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
Race 2: EAT AT THE LEAGUESY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1200m
LOVE YA BLUE – Shifted in abruptly leaving the 1000m making contact with the running rail.
PRIOR ENGAGMENT – Steadied from heels and was forced to shift in approaching the 900m. when questioned regarding the below market expectation performance Jockey K. Yoshida advised that his mount failed to respond when placed under pressure from the 400m and as a result proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
BRUTUS – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
MACHU PICCHU – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
WHISTLIN’ ARROW – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
RUB RUSH – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
KIBBIT RAHEEB – Began awkwardly.
Race 3: SUPPORT THE DALBY DIEHARDS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400m
TIZ – Fractious in barriers. Stood flat footed, missed to the start by considerable lengths taking no competitive part in the event. Trainer J. Livingstone was advised the mare would require two consecutive barrier certificates prior to returning to racing.
AKLAVIK – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels and was forced to restrain approaching the 1000m.
RUSSIAN ROMEO – Raced three wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages.
POINT THE WAGON – Jockey P. Hamblin was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip.
Race 4: DALBY LEAGUES CLUB CANNONBALL FLYING OPEN HANDICAP – 1000m
PUZZLING WONDER – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the inside
PIRACY – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
No further racing incidents
Race 5: WE'RE A FAMILY CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP – 800m
Prior to the declaration of correct weight the connections of the third place getter CHEESIE lodged a protest against the second place getter EXCEPTIONAL BELLE alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from all parties, stewards could not be satisfied that the interference caused the CHEESIE, could warrant a reversal of the placings, therefore dismissing the protest, leaving the numbers as semaphored by the judge.
JULIETTE STREET – Fractious in barriers.
OUR BOY BORRIS – Fractious in barriers. Began awkwardly.
LUCKY TIME – Began awkwardly.
THE WAITING MAN – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
CHEESIE – Began awkwardly. Steadied form heels leaving the 200m when EXCEPTIONAL BELLE shifted out. Apprentice J. Molloy the rider of ECEPTIONAL BELLE was reprimanded for carless riding under AR131(a).
