The declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey A. Fancourt, the rider of ALIRAAJ, made application to be declared a non-runner as in her opinion she was denied a fair start. After taking evidence from all parties involved as well as viewing the available patrol footage, Stewards were of the opinion that the horses mannerisms when rearing as the barriers opened were the sole cause of the horse losing ground at the start. On this basis Stewards subsequently dismissed the application and declared correct weight on the semaphored numbers.
