SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Ipswich – Friday 18 October 2019 – Race 5:
 
Trainer D. Forster advised that TIPONI was found to be lame following the race and after discussions with connections it has been decided to retire the mare from racing.
 
GENERAL
 
As apprentice N. Keal and R. Maloney were not riding due to injury, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: TAB QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1350M
 
DADDY COOL – Bumped by ACCESSORY near the 500m. A. Mallyon could offer no tangible explanation for the horse’s poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant findings. Stable representative Mr M. Eggleston advised that he was also disappointed with today’s performance, stating that the horse had worked well leading into today’s race. He indicated that he will have routine veterinary tests performed in coming days and report to stewards the outcome of such tests.
 
ACCESSORY – Improved on to the heels of REBEL ROCK near the 500m, shifted out and bumped DADDY COOL.
 
SIZZLING BABE – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained when the pace steadied passing the 900m.
 
PURRONI – A little slow to begin.
 
SPECIAL TEMPLE – Had to be eased off the heels of ACCESSORY passing the 900m and overraced for some distance. Had to be restrained near the 450m to avoid the heels of DADDY COOL, which was weakening.
 
Race 2: GALLOPERS SPORTS CUB C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
ALPENDURADA – Hampered at the start when restrained off the heels of FLASH PATCH, which jumped awkwardly.
 
FLASH PATCH – Jumped awkwardly. M. Cahill was issued with a reprimand for using his whip in a forehand manner more than the permitted number of times prior to the 100m.
 
VALIDAR – Raced greenly and hung out slightly near the 700m.
 
Race 3: BRC SPRING RACING CARNIVAL F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
TOO HARD TO MISS – Near the 800m, when surrendering the lead to SHE’S OUR RIPPA, made contact with the running rail, became awkward and lost ground.
 
TOPLINE – Restrained at the start and taken towards the rear of the field to gain a position closer to the rail. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
VICTORY LINER – Bumped at the start.
 
AMICHE – Commenced to overrace and had to be checked to avoid the heels of VICTORY LINER when the tempo slowed near the 900m.
 
GANDIVA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SO YOU BEAUTY – Taken out slightly soon after the start by VICTORY LINER and then made heavy contact with CALABRIA. Had to be restrained from the heels of TOO HARD TO MISS when the pace continued to be slow passing the 800m.
 
SHE’S OUR RIPPA – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped VICTORY LINER.
 
JUMP START – Checked soon after the start. Overraced badly in the early stages and near the 850m had to be checked to avoid the heels of AMICHE. Shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of CALABRIA when overracing and racing greenly near the 750m. Raced greenly for a major part of the event.
 
CALABRIA – Checked soon after the start. Had to be eased to avoid the heels of SO YOU BEAUTY near the 800m.
 
Race 4: MELBOURNE CUP @ EAGLE FARM OPEN H'CAP – 1350M
 
BOLERO KING – Began very awkwardly and shifted out, before being corrected by its rider. Held up in the early part of the home straight and had to alter course to the inside of SHAQUIN.
 
BRYNEICH – Trainer C. Anderson was fined $200 for the late declaration of S. Thornton as rider. Bumped heavily soon after the start by BOLERO KING.
 
CHIEF IN COMMAND – Hampered when tightened for room at the start. Held up in the early part of the home straight and had to alter course to the outside of ALMAS in order to improve.
 
BROCSON – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: ASCOT HOUSE BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1650M
 
STORM HARBOUR – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
FULL NELSON – Taken wider near the 1100m.
 
GLEN ORD – Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight until passing the 200m.
 
ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM – Had to be shifted out from the heels of the leader HALLSIDE FANDANGO near the 1100m. The veterinary surgeon reported that the mare had bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the horse would be ineligible to race for 3 months and prior to starting again must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
SULTRY TESTA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 6: THE SOCIETY NYE PARTY RATINGS BAND 0 – 70 H'CAP – 2240M
 
MONACO SNOB – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
EQUIPPED – Dislodged its rider when entering the track, examined by veterinary surgeon behind the barriers and cleared to race. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Had to be steadied from the heels of SHEEZINAJAM near the 100m when that runner commenced to weaken and had to alter course to the inside of ROMAN DOLL in order to improve.
 
VIHARI – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 1200m.
 
BACKHOUSE BILLY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
CHARLIE’S WORLD – Raced fiercely approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion and threw its head in the air on a number of occasions. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Had to be checked near the 150m when disappointed for clear running between CRAIGLEA CETINA and CATCH ME LATER.
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA – After passing the winning post had to be checked from the heels of CATCH ME LATER, which was taken in slightly by VIHARI.
 
Race 7: KIRIN RATINGS BAND 0 – 70 H'CAP – 1350M
 
NO REFUND – Hung out for a major part of the race and proved difficult to ride rounding the home turn, and in the home straight hung out, resulting in M. Hellyer being unable to ride his mount out in his normal manner. Co-trainer W. Hulbert advised that he will look to race on bigger tracks in future starts. Mr Hulbert was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
 
REAL SUPREMACY – Steadied near the 100m to avoid the heels of PURE PULSE, which shifted out. R. Wiggins, the rider of PURE PULSE, was cautioned and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
 
ENTERPRISE MOSS – Hampered at the start when taken across the hindquarters of PURE PULSE.
 
ERRINGHI SPRING – Jumped awkwardly.
