GENERAL

Sunshine Coast 27/11/2020 – Race 1 – Hostwin Toronado – Trainer K Schweida reported to Stewards that the colt pulled up shin sore this morning and he will now send the horse for a six week spell.

Race 1: STELLA ARTOIS Class 6 Handicap 1630 metres

FIRSTHAND – Slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.

COUNTESS DE GALVEZ – Shortly after the start laid out making contact with DESTINY’S OWN.

ALDERMAN - Trainer L Gough was fined $100 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.

TABARD – Raced keenly in the early stages.

THUMBS UP – Raced three wide without cover throughout.


Race 2: WINNING EDGE DOOMBEN PLATE 1050 metres


YES WE'RE READY – Crowded on jumping between RACEDAY GLAMOUR which shifted out and CRACK OF DOOM which shifted in. Checked when disappointed for a run to the inside of RACEDAY GLAMOUR near the 300m. App J Huxtable was advised to take greater care when attempting narrows runs.

BABY WONG – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

CRACK OF DOOM – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Passing the 300m shifted out making contact with SHE’S SO VAIN. Inclined to lay inwards in the home straight.

SHE'S SO VAIN – Bumped at the 300m. Inclined to lay inwards in the home straight.

RACEDAY GLAMOUR – Began awkward and shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination of filly did not identify any abnormal findings.


Race 3: G.H. MUMM BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1050 metres

WHYCATCHIM – Improved on the heels of FAIR FELLA near the 700m and was steadied. Raced in restricted room near the 300m between SISTER KITTY MAC and GIN ‘N’ BITTERS.

LOVE SQUIRRELS – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight. Laid in over the final 100m.

FAIR FELLA – Bumped on jumping

GO DEEP – Bumped on jumping

SISTER KITTY MAC – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

MARY VALLEY – Change of tactics - Trainer S Ryan advised Stewards that from the wide barrier the filly will be ridden further back with cover if circumstances permit. Settled at the rear of the field. Approaching the home turn had to be steadied from the heels of MORT DOYLE was carried wide.


Race 4: SELECT FIRE SYSTEMS PTY LTD QTIS 3YO Handicap 1630 metres

WAY BEYOND – Held up for clear running from the 300m until a point near the 200m.

ROKE – Proved very difficult to ride in the early and middle stages whilst being restrained in an attempt to get cover. Rider M McGillivray

OLYMPIC CLASS – Unable to secure clear running from the 300m until a point near the 200m.

SEE MARIE – Shortly after the start made contact with PULCHERIA when racing in restricted room to the inside of the ROKE.

MT MORT SHARK – Over raced in the early and middle stages and raced three wide with cover throughout.

GOOD SOIZE – Had to be steadied from the heels of BEG ME which shifted out to obtain clear running.

DUNE FORTY FIVE – Bumped on jumping. Held up for clear running from the 300m until a point near the 200m

MOB BUSTER – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages.


Race 5: LEO THOMSEN MEMORIAL Class 3 Plate 1350 metres

Correct weight was delayed when the 2nd placegetter, Jockey L Dittman (KUBRICK) and stable representative P Shailer requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether they had grounds to lodge a protest against BEACHBREAK the first horse past the post, alleging interference in the home straight. After viewing the films, Jockey L Dittman (KUBRICK) and stable representative P Shailer advised that they did not wish to proceed with the protest.

KUBRICK – Momentarily disappointed for a run approaching the 200m. Jockey L Dittman was fined $300 for using the whip six times prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)

MOUNT TABORA – Bumped by BEACHBREAK who was improving to its outside on the home turn.

SO DAPPER – Began well as a result settled in the lead.

CUBIC ZIRCONIA – Lost its near side winker near the 400m

GOT MY THRILLS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

TOOMAI – Steadied when racing tight to the inside of MISS PENFOLD near the 100m

MISS PENFOLD – Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 100m


Race 6: QUEENSLAND FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES BM 78 Handicap 2030 metres

The start was delayed when LADY SOLERNO underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of the rider. Subsequently the inspection revealed the mare to be lame in the off fore leg and was subsequently declared a late scratching scratching at 3:27pm. All monies invested on LADY SOLERNO were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3:27pm

Trainer R Cameron was notified the he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the mare racing or trialing again.

SEENTOOMANY – Passing the 200m had to be eased when disappointed for a run to the inside of GRAND ZOU which was tiring and giving ground at that point of the race and thereafter was eased down over the concluding stages.

MORENDI – Raced three wide throughout

DASHING SPECIAL – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Near the 550m was checked when racing to the outside of CITY SMART and HAPPY GO PLUCKY. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason for DASHING SPECIAL checking at that point of the race.

GRAND ZOU – Began awkwardly. Rider R Fradd reported that the gelding did not run out a strong 2000m and tired over the final 300m. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.

PLUMARO – Held up and was unable to improve from the 600m to a point near the 150m.

POPULIST – Passing the winning post on the first occasion was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of PURRFECT DEAL.

PURRFECT DEAL – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. Lost a near fore and off hind plate in running.


Race 7: FOUR PINES PACIFIC ALE Class 6 Plate 1200 metres

CATESBY – Raced three wide throughout. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 100m when BALLER shifted out to obtain clear running.

SNOWZONE – Momentarily inconvenienced near the 100m when BALLER shifted out to obtain clear running.

MOONSHINE LADY – Began awkwardly

BALLER – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until and point inside the 150m.


Race 8: SKY RACING TATTERSALL'S RECOGNITION STAKES 1350 metres

Start was delayed when EMERALD KINGDOM became fractious and lunged at the barriers. Was subsequently examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

BOOMSARA - App J Huxtable was reprimanded for using the whip six times prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)

SOXAGON – Commenced to over race whilst being restrained from the heels SNITCH which shifted in near the 900m.

PROFIT – Became awkward when racing in restricted room near the 800m

AGASSI – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Rounding the home turn was steadied from the heels of TESTASHADOW which shifted out after being bumped by THE HARROVIAN.

WAPITI – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

TESTASHADOW – After being late arriving on course underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and clear to start, also a sample taken for analysis.


Race 9: SPIRIT OF BOOM CLASSIC FILLIES & MARES 1200 metres

JADENTOM – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

SKATE TO PARIS – Bumped on jumping. Near the 700m was steadied from the heels of THINE IS THE POWER and in doing so shifted out making contact with SOCIALISING.

JAMI LADY – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide with cover throughout.

SPIRIT'S CHOICE – Near the 500m was steadied from heels when racing tight to the inside of L’COSMO. Raced three wide with cover throughout.

THINE IS THE POWER – Near the 200m had to be eased from the heels of SPIRIT’S CHOICE.

ICE FROST – Near the 200m when giving ground was bumped by GOODONYA SONJA.

MOLLY'S ROCKING – Slow to begin

SOCIALISING – Bumped on jumping and shortly after was crowded to the inside of JADENTOM. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
