Race 1: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap 1050 metres
 
HEADLANDER – Trainer K Schweida was fined $200 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the required time. Raced wide throughout. Trainer advised stewards that following todays event the horse would be sent for a spell.

PORTOBELLO ROAD – Bumped on jumping away.
 
YANGSEA – Tightened for room and had to be steadied shortly after the start.
 
HAMLET VON SNITZEL – Began awkwardly.
 
MISHANI ENCHANTED – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Severely checked to avoid heels near the 900m. Again checked at the 700m and near the 500m.
 
MYSTIC GEM – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Laceration to the near fore leg post race. B Stewart, the rider of RUBIQUITOUS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 900m he allowed his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of MYSTIC GEM causing that horse to be checked and causing MISHANI ENCHANTED, which was following to be checked. Jockey Stewarts license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14days to commence m/n 19/2/2021 until 5/3/2021, which will follow the completion of other suspensions he has already incurred. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn before shifting wider to obtain clear running.
 
MISS GOT – Slow to begin.
 
GENERAL WOLFFE – Laid in during the early stages.
 
 
 
Race 2: HELLBENT FIRST CROP AT INGLIS CLASSIC OPEN Handicap 1600 metres
 
LE JUGE – Slow to begin.
 
LIGULATE – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure.
 
PROMETHEUS – Trainer T Sears advised steward that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
SPECTROSCOPE – Caught wide during the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to the lead passing the 1200m.
 
LOVE EXPRESS – Disappointed for a run when passing the 600m and held up for clear running as a result until near the 450m.
 
 
Race 3: MOUNT FRANKLIN BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1600 metres
 
Track was upgraded to Good 4 prior to the running of this event.
 
BARNEY'S LAW – Became fractious in the tie-up stalls prior to racing and was examined by the vet before being cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Post race vet examination revealed the horse to being making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer M Currie was advised that a veterinary certificate with the results of an endoscopic examination would be required prior to next start.
 
TERRIUS – Over-raced during the early and middle stages. Rider reported that her mount failed to respond to her riding over the concluding stages and was disappointing.
 
HAIL MANHATTAN – Inconvenienced and forced wider near the 400m.
 
SMART METEOR – Slow to begin. Forced to shift out to avoid heels near the 400m.
 
COASTAL BOY – Forced wider near the 400m.
 
RINVIATA – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
DRUMADOIR – Slow to begin.
 
GUNNOBE – After being held up rounding the home turn, improved into a run where there was insufficient room near the 400m and inconvenienced COASTAL BOY, forcing that horse wider. A Mallyon was reprimanded for this incident.
 
CHAMPAGNE AUNTY – Declared a late scratching at 1:35pm on veterinary advise after becoming fractious in the barriers. On the declaration of correct weight steward ordered that all monies invested on CHAMPAGNE AUNTY be refunded and further ordered the following deductions on all successful bets: 1st Gunnobe                 13c win, 14c place
                                                   2nd Hail Manhattan 12c place
                                                   3rd Drumadoir          18c place
 
Trainer S Tregea was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to next start.       Jockey M Du Plessis was examined by the club doctor and clear to fulfill his remaining engagements.
 
 
Race 4: SKY RACING Class 3 Plate 1200 metres
 
GENZAI THE WOLF – Slow to begin.
 
GETYOURGREYON – Steadied from heels near the 700m when over-racing.
 
GO DEEP – Over-raced during the early stages.
 
MR SO AND SO - Slow to begin.
 
DIXON BAY - Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: MILLERS SWIM SCHOOL QTIS 3-Y-O Colts & Geldings Handicap 1200 metres
 
TICK TOCK BOOM – Slow to begin. Post race veterinary examination found the horse to be lame in both fore legs. Trainer D Vandyke was advised that he must provide a vet certificate prior to racing again.
 
REAL FINE WINE – Difficulty obtaining clear running during the early stages of the home straight.
 
CRIMINAL DEFENCE – Slow to begin.
 
HE KNOWS – Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 500m.
 
BUNDYANDCOKE – Slow to begin. Over-raced during the early stages. Laid in under pressure.
 
KUDU – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 6: KIRIN QTIS 3-Y-O Fillies Handicap 1200 metres
 
NO LAUGHING MATTER – Shifted in near the 900m and made heavy contact with the running rail.
 
MICROWAVE JENNY – Slow to begin.
 
TOOROOLOO – Fractious in the mounting enclosure. Over-raced badly during the early stages when restrained to obtain cover. Post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have slow recovery rate, was lame in the near fore leg and had a minor laceration to the near hind leg.
 
TYCOON EVIE – Forced wider near the 800m and raced 3 wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
NICCI'S SPIRIT – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels before shifting inwards to obtain clear running near the 300m.
 
SWEET RHAPSODY – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 2000 metres
 
HAPPY GO PLUCKY – After racing wide during the early stages was permitted to stride forward to a position outside the lead near the 900m.
 
NORTH AFRIKA – Over-raced during the middle stages.
 
WILLO TITTO – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Lost near fore plate in running.
 
PLEASED – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
SO DAPPER – Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
MAKEDON – R Fradd was fined the sum of $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for excessive whip use in that he applied the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 8: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 1200 metres
 
JARDIN ROUGE – Raced wide without cover.
 
POETIC DREAM – Tightened for room and lost ground near the 900m. Raced wide throughout.
 
HIGH COST – Slow to begin. Over-raced during the early stages and shifted wider near the 950m.
 
SOCIALISING – Slow to begin. Tightened for room and lost ground near the 900m. Held up momentarily shortly after entering the home straight.
 
SHE ZA BOSS – Slow to begin. Wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 9: BRC MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL Class 6 Plate 1350 metres
 
 
ANGUS THE BLACK – Post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ARTHUR IN CHARGE – Wide throughout. S Thornton, the rider of DESERT LORD, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 400m she directed her mount out when not sufficiently clear of ARTHER IN CHARGE making contact with that horse and causing that horse to check and shift out. Jockey S Thorntons license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence m/n 30/1/2021 and to conclude m/n 7/2/2021.
 
BARODA – Wide without cover.
