Race 1: TAB Venue Mode QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate 1200 metres
BAILEY BOO – Raced three wide throughout. Rounding the home turn was carried wider when TRIPTONIC shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BETTER GET READY – Rider B Thompson reported that the gelding did not appreciate the heavy track conditions.
BULLGARI – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
BUNDYANDCOKE – After being fractious in the enclosure and making contact with the outside running rail, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.
OFF ROAD – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Near the 800m put in an awkward stride and blundered. Lost and off fore plate in running. Trainer S Morrisey was advised a warning would be put on the geldings barrier manners.
RIGHT REASON – Rounding the home turn was carried wider on the track.
TRIPTONIC – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear running from the 600m to a point entering the home straight before shifting out to obtain clear running.
Race 2: 2 Canadian Club QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1200 metres
IN ORDER – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
LADY FLORA – Began awkwardly.
LARAINA – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced in restricted room from the 800m until a point near the 400m.
MARTO – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
MISS MOSCATO – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
SIENNA'S AWARD – Over-raced in the early stages. Rider R Palmer reported that the filly raced ungenerously throughout the event and in her opinion did not handle the heavy track conditions.
SONIC ARROW – Began awkwardly.
Race 3: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BM72 Handicap 2220 metres
ADVANCE WARNING – Rider R Maloney was fined $400 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, which is 1 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
METEOR LIGHT – Bumped on jumping. Shifted wider near the 1500m and was permitted to stride forward to take up a leading position near the 800m. Apprentice A Thompson was fined $400 for using the whip 8 times prior to the 100m, which is 3 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
ZAWADI – Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start was tightened between runners when CHAMPAGNE AUNTY shifted in. Rider B Thompson report that the gelding raced keenly in the early and middle stages and in his opinion did not handle the heavy track conditions.
GO DARCY – Began awkwardly.
YOUNGBLOOD – Steadied whilst racing in restricted room passing the winning post on the first occasion.
CHAMPAGNE AUNTY – Shortly after the start shifted in abruptly. Raced keen in the early stages.
MISS PENFOLD – Began awkwardly. Near the 800m shifted out to obtain clear running and raced wide for the remainder.
Race 4: MOUNT FRANKLIN Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres
WHOZYADEELER – Began awkwardly. Carried wider round the home turn when THE CHOSEN ONE shifted out.
CHEVYCHASER – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
OURCONI – Near the 1000m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of SLIGHTLY SHADY which shifted in. Apprentice A Thompson was reprimanded under AR131(a) for permitting his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear to do so.
THE CHOSEN ONE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 400m shifted out to obtain clear running.
THE GOLDEN BEAR – Began awkwardly.
SCRUFF'N'STUFF – Slow to begin. Near the 1200m the near side winker was dislodged.
SLIGHTLY SHADY – Trainer V Chalmers was reprimanded under AR100 for failing to advise Stewards that the mare would be ridden more forward in today’s event, which is in contrast to it’s most recent starts.
Race 5: XXXX DRY Class 2 Handicap 1110 metres
DREAMTIMER – Apprentice M Wishart was fined $300 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, which is 1 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
SADDLE BOY – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
JAZZ QUEEN – Tightened between runners on jumping. Held up for clear running from the 500m until a point entering the home straight.
BROOKLYN STAR – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages and raced three wide without cover throughout.
SINGLE AGAIN – Tightened between runners shortly after jumping and lost ground.
Race 6: SKY RACING BM75 Handicap 1110 metres
WUDANG BLADE – Near the 200m brushed with TARDIS which laid in under pressure.
TARDIS – Trainer E O’Rourke was fined $100 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
KING KLAUS – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Laid near the 800m for a short distance and again rounding the home turn.
VOILA - Rider L Dittmann was fined $400 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, which is 1 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
Race 7: BRC GIRL’S DAY OUT 20 MARCH Class 2 Handicap 1640 metres
DELAYED LAUNCH – Bumped on jumping.
NORTHERN WOODS - Began awkwardly.
TOP ORDER – Slow to begin.
QUALIFY – Near the 500m was checked and lost ground when tightened for room between DELAYED LAUNCH and EPICURIOUS which shifted to the outside of MUFASTA to improve and was further tightened when MUFASTA then shifted out under pressure. Apprentice L Kilner and rider K Yoshida were reprimanded under AR131(a) for permitting their mounts to shift out when insufficiently clear to do so.
Race 8: RACECOURSE VILLAGE BM70 Handicap 1350 metres
REBEL SALUTE – Shifted out rounding the home turn and bumped with ROYAL SHEEN.
ROYAL SHEEN – Bumped with REBEL SALUTE rounding the home turn and was carried wider.
