Race 1: Solid Ground Landscaping Class 6 Handicap – 1800m
 
SIR BARNABUS – Slow into stride.
 
SHUDA KNOWN BETTER – Raced keenly and proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
 
POLEMIC – Momentarily inconvenienced at the 100m when SIR BARNABUS laid in under pressure.
 
 
Race 2: Ingredior QTIS 2YO Handicap – 1000m
 
MISHANI VANDAL which reared behind the barriers resulting in jockey J. Orman being dislodged had to be resaddled, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
DISCO LIGHTS – Slow to begin. Laid inwards in the early part of the straight.
 
EXPOSED SECRET – Bumped at the start.
 
OSHUN – Bumped at the start and then shifted out carrying KISS ‘N’ GET READY outwards. Raced greenly near the 600m when reluctant to take a run to the inside of EXPOSED SECRET.
 
KISS ‘N’ GET READY – On jumping was bumped outwards and then had to be eased off the heels of NO TREBLE, which shifted in. Near the 600m had to be steadied outwards from the heels of EXPOSED SECRET, which rolled out.
 
STRIKE – Near the 600m whilst having a tendency to lay outwards had to be eased after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of DARK SON, which rolled inwards.
 
 
Race 3: Clayfield College Foundation QTIS 3YO Handicap – 1000m
 
A pre-race veterinary examination of JAGGED EDGE revealed the gelding to have a small abrasion on the inside of the near fore fetlock and was cleared to start.
 
VOGUE – Slow to begin.
 
SPECIAL TEMPLE – Jumped awkwardly outwards making contact with MAGIC TRICK.
 
MAGIC TRICK – Bumped on jumping. Raced greenly making the turn into the straight.
 
JAGGED EDGE – Inclined to lay outwards and raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 4: Eaton Services Group Colts, Geldings & Entires Benchmark 70 Handicap – 1400m
 
UMBERTO – Slow to begin.
 
LE MATTAN – Slow to begin.
 
OBELOS – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced three wide without cover throughout and was carried wider making the turn into the straight. A post race veterinary examination found the gelding to be coughing.
 
COUNTER MEAL – Near the 1300m had to be steadied off the heels of MASSTOO, which rolled in. Cast a near hind plate in running.
 
HOMEWORK – Carried wide making the turn into the straight.
 
 
Race 5: Cutters Skips QTIS 3YO Handicap – 1400m
 
BALLISTIC BOY – Slow to begin. Bumped near the 350m.
 
BETTER THAN GROOVY – Slow to begin.
 
BRONCKS – Jumped away awkwardly. Eased over the concluding stages when THE SINNER shifted out abruptly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.
 
FLAME PRINCESS – Bumped near the 350m.
 
THE SINNER – Shifted out abruptly over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 6: Ray White Ascot Benchmark 75 Handicap – 2200m
 
Jockey B. Stewart (AKAGE) was dislodged after the winning post and as a result was unable to weigh in. Correct weight was subsequently declared under the provisions of AR208(3)(b). Jockey Stewart was examined by the Club’s Doctor and was stood down from his remaining rides and replaced as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
AKAGE – Slow into stride and shortly after dipped after clipping the heels of MONACO SNOB. Whilst returning to the enclosure the mare dislodged its rider and galloped down the straight, slipping over and momentarily winding herself. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have lost a near fore plate.
 
MONACO SNOB – Raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 7: Quinstown Fillies & Mares Benchmark 70 Handicap – 1400m
 
DAUNTING QUEEN was declared a late scratching at 3.54 p.m. by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice after the mare kicked out whilst in the parade ring striking the outside fence, resulting in an injury to its near hind heel. All monies invested on DAUNTING QUEEN were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.54 p.m.:-
 
7 cents in the dollar for the win #1 (TIME TO PLAY)
8 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #1 (TIME TO PLAY)
7 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #11(GOLDEN MEAN)
7 cents in the dollar for the 3rd place #7 (RED STINA)
 
Trainer M. Hassam was advised that the mare will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
NOTHING NEEDED- Slow to begin.
 
FRANCISCA – Jumped outwards bumping MISS SARA out onto TYCOON STREET. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MISS SARA – Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TYCOON STREET – Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened to the inside of CLAIRVUE MISSY, which had been carried inwards by SISTER PATTI.
 
 
Race 8: Juiced TV Open Handicap – 1400m
 
The start was delayed when FIGHTING TEO cast a near fore plate behind the barriers, was subsequently replated and cleared to start.
 
FORTENSKY – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
FIGHTING TEO – Slow to begin.
 
THE AVENGER – Slow into stride.
 
IN HIS STRIDE – Jockey J. Bayliss dropped his whip shortly after passing the 200m.
 
 
Race 9: TAB Benchmark 80 Handicap – 1200m
 
As App E. Smith was unavailable Stewards permitted App C. Bayliss to be substituted as the rider of WANT TO BOLT.
 
DEEP IMAGE – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
DESMON’S PRIDE – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
 
BEACON – Slow into stride.
 
CABEIRIAN – Commenced to race keenly for a short distance near the 700m. Held up in the early part of the straight.
 
SNITZ – Commenced to overrace when racing in restricted room between the 500m and 400m and had to be momentarily eased.
 
DENARIUS – Held up for clear running between the 500m and 100m.
