BADOOSH – Stewards questioned Jockey R. Fradd regarding his riding tactics on BADOOSH, in particular leaving the 600m where he had an opportunity to improve to the inside of CABOCHON LIL and trail SWING SHIFT into the race. Jockey Fradd explained that he was reluctant to improve into this run as he was of the view he was better suited trailing CABOCHON LIL, which was a more fancied runner than SWING SHIFT on the fence. He added that it was apparent soon after straightening that CABOCHON LIL was not improving his position and as VIOLET shifted out and hampered his run he elected to alter course to the outside. Stewards noted his explanation. App B. Nothdurft (VIOLET) was reminded at all times to attempt to keep his mounts on a straight course.
