Race 2 - GRANOLA STATE
Race 3 - STARBEATS and PRINCESS RACER

Race 1: RATINGS 0-60 HDCP 1030 Metres

SIOUXSIE – slow to begin.  When asked to comment on tactics adopted app H English stated the mare was not suited to by the fast early pace, as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated.  She added SOUXSIE would be better suited to races over a longer distance.  Stewards noted the explanation.

TEN GOAL POLO – raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the event.

SHE’S ON POINT – shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip near the 100 metres, hampering WARNERS LANDING.

WARNERS LANDING – hampered near the 100 metres.

Race 2: CLASS B HDCP 1200 Metres
After being kicked in the off hind leg in the race day tie-up stalls, FORGOTTEN FEELING was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2:05pm.  Stewards ordered all bets to be refunded in full with deductions of 12 cents win and 11 cents place face value of all winning bets. Trainer L Wanless was advised FORGOTTEN FEELING would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.

DIA VERNON – raced wide for the majority of the event.

HEZAGIGOLO – slow to begin.  Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

NIGHTS ABLAZE – as the horse had not started for a considerable period, was examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race and cleared to start.

AIRPORT – shifted out near the 800 metres.

SALTY’S BOY – following the event rider M Gray reported the gelding was inclined to lay out throughout the event.

HOVE ACTUALLY – slow to begin.

Race 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1350 Metres

MAADAK – slow to begin.  Raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA GUNSMOKE – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

CRAIGLEA HUSKY – permission was granted for rider R Oakford to ride the colt ½ kg over its allocated weight when no other rider was available.

TELLHIMHESDREAMING – following the event rider R Faehr reported the filly in his opinion was not suited by the tight turning track.

Race 4: BENCHMARK 50 HDCP 1350 Metres
Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the start of the event and determine whether TELLOFF was afforded a fair start.  After taking evidence from rider H Phillips, starter S Hamilton and viewing the patrol video, it was established TELLOFF reared, striking jockey Phillips in the face as the start was effected, and as such was declared a runner.  As H Phillips was momentarily incapacitated, TELLOFF was retired from the race a short distance after the start.  Trainer B Phillips was advised TELLOFF must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.  Jockey H Phillips was examined by QAS medical staff and cleared to fulfil her remaining engagement.

PATICHE – tightened near the 1000 metres.

MY CERTAIN – obliged to steady near the 1000 metres when tightened for room.

DARK FORCE – shifted in near the 1000 metres.  Rider R Faehr was reprimanded under AR131(a) for shifting in when not fully clear.

PUMP ACTION – weakened from the 400 metres.  Rider C Rogers was of the opinion the mare is better suited to shorter distances.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
