Race 1: Dawson Dash QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey D Evans requested to look at the patrol footage of the start. After doing so, Jockey Evans made application for WALLACH to be declared a non-runner. After, viewing the available patrol films and speaking with the Starter, Stewards were not satisfied that WALLACH had been denied a fair start and therefor declared correct weight.
 
WALLACH – Began awkwardly almost dislodging its rider losing significant ground.
 
BLUE DEWAR – Bounded on jumping and shifted inwards. Steadied from heels near the 600 metres.
 
MUDDY PUDDLE DAY – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Held up for a short distance after entering the home straight.
 
PAPER TALK – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
ROUND ‘EM UP – Jockey M Barnham reported that the gelding hung out throughout.
 
ISIS JECTALE – Jockey N Summers reported that the filly hung out from the home turn for the distance of the straight. Shied at the shadow of the winning post.
 
OUR DESERT ROSE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 2: Capricorn Classic BenchMark 65 Handicap 1000m
 
FIDEREUS – Stewards accepted the reason for the late declaration of App. N Seymour as rider. Held up for the length of the straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
LUCKY CLOVER – Slow to begin.
 
MAKE AMENDS – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
VALFIERNO – Raced five wide without cover throughout.
 
SAMUEL JAMES – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
CLAPPERS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
OPTION – Ran about in the home straight proving difficult to ride out.
 
 
Race 3: Gregory Stride Class B Handicap 1200m
 
TAMBO’S VIXEN – Began awkwardly and bumped shortly after the start. Further tightened and checked when BESTERS shifted out shortly after the start. Jockey S Sheargold was advised that Stewards expected a greater effort to correct his mount in these circumstances was required. Hung out abruptly near the 700 metres. Rider dropped their whip near the 250 metres.
 
BESTERS – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Bumped shortly after the start.
 
RAINBOW SPARKLES – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping BESTERS.
 
ANA’S IDOL – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
REAL DEAL MCNEILL – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
GEMBEAM – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SNIP ‘N’ DRIFT – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
DELCETTO SYRAH – A post-race veterinary inspection revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
Race 4: King & CO Mile Ratings Band 0 – 60 Handicap 1615m
 
SONG ONE – Slow into stride.
 
STYLISH LUCK – Over raced for a short distance shortly after the start. Raced five without cover throughout.
 
AUTHADANE – Hung out in the early stages.
 
SPARE TICKET – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
AMADEO – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
ARGENTO PERLO – Over raced until near the 1000 metres.
 
KALANGADOO CHROME – Trainer reported that the gelding had been galloped on the off side hind leg. The gelding was treated by the race day veterinary surgeon,
 
Race 5: Emerald Service Centre Emerald Cup Open Handicap 1615m
 
HUNTER ISLAND – Slow to begin and slow into stride.
 
OUR BEATNIK – Slow to begin.
 
TUXEDO BOY – Over raced from near the 1400 metres to near the 1100 metres.
 
MACHO TYCOON – Rider allowed the gelding to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leaders near the 1000 metres.
 
DAWN FIGHTER – Jockey S Sheargold was fined $300 for weighing in overweight.
