SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Rockhampton, 7.4.20

Trainer L. Rowe reported that CHANAMARO pulled up with a bruise to the near fore fetlock, and the horse would now be leaving his stable. Mr Rowe was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to any future race start.

Race 9: Stewards inquired into excessive use of the whip by jockey B. Richardson (Astral Knight). Jockey Richardson pleaded guilty to using her whip 8 times prior to the 100m (total 12) and was fined $200. In assessing penalty, stewards took into account it was Miss Richardson’s second breach of the whip rule that day.

As N. Seymour was not riding at today’s meeting, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Emerald Jockey Club QTIS Maiden Plate – 1000m

SUMMER LEA – Trainer G. Bell was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of the horse in relation to its pre-race manners. Jumped away awkwardly.

THE OTHER FELLA – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SHE DEVEL – Slow to begin.

SADDY STYLE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

RED RED ROSE – Rider reported that his mount shifted out after shying at the winning post.


Race 2: Emerald Green Turf Benchmark 60 H’cap – 10000m

FLEWSHOT – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

ARCHADE – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after.

ROSEXCEL – Laid in under pressure in the straight. Raced wide throughout.

BOUND TO ME – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

ALFIARTO – When questioned regarding the performance jockey M. Haley stated that the gelding failed to travel at any stage and was disadvantaged by the heavy weight carried in today’s event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.



Race 3: Flexihire Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1615m

KING MAX – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

EARL OF FORDYCE – Slow to begin. Overraced throughout the event, and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions. Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.

PIPEMAJOR – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. In the vicinity of the 1000m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of DYDEE’S GIRL, which shifted in after being carried wider by ADDICTED.

DYDEE’S GIRL In the vicinity of the 1200m was carried wider by ADDICTED, which shifted out. Shortly thereafter shifted back in inconveniencing PIPEMAJOR.

ADDICTED – In the vicinity of the 1200m shifted out, becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of NOTHING TO DANCE.

Following the running of Race 3, jockey Brook Richardson was examined by the Queensland Ambulance officers and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.


Race 4: Happy Easter! Benchmark 50 H’cap – 1000m

SOLO MELODY – Declared a late scratching at 1.43 pm after refusing to load into the barriers. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable:

33 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
25 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
31 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets

Trainer R. Williams was advised that SOLO MELODY would be required to obtain a barrier certificate prior to any future race start.

DIRT RICH – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider M. Haley reported his mount raced green throughout the event.
A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Jockey M. Haley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(6)(c) for using his whip whilst out of contention and was fined $100.

WALLACH – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 900m had to be steadied after improving onto heels.

AQUAGEM – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.


Race 5: Two At A Thyme Catering Benchmark 50 H’cap – 1000m

OUTBACK PARTY – Slow to begin.

SPALLINA – Slow to begin.

KULABA – Blundered in the vicinity of the 800m. Ran off rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.


Race 6: Smith & Co Tent Hire Open H’cap – 1300m

OUR BEATNIK – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.

STYLISH LUCK – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.

ESCHIELE - In the vicinity of the 300m had to be restrained after being improving onto the heels of the weakening PRESENT SENSE. Laid in under pressure in the straight.


Race 7: Maraboon Tavern Class 6 Plate – 1200m

ARRESTAR – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

ENEMY OF MAN – Slow to begin.

SHOW ‘EM - Rider reported her mount did not handle the going today.

HACKSAW RIDGE – Stewards opened an inquiry into jockey Watkins’s riding, particularly over the final 800m. After taking evidence from jockey Watkins and Trainer T. Austin, the matter was adjourned to allow stewards to view the previous starts and also examine betting records of the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MISHNAH – Raced wide throughout.

VALFIERNO – In the vicinity of the 400m had to be steadied after improving on to the heels of TURKEY BEACH.

ARGENTO PERLO – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

TURKEY BEACH – Laid in under pressure in the straight.


Race 8: Woods Tyre Service Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1300m

DRUMSHOW – Hampered on jumping away.

SIXES – Blundered on jumping away.

RHYOLA - In the vicinity of the 1100m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SIXES, which shifted out. Jockey E. Smith, rider of SIXES, was reminded of her obligations to be clear when shifting ground.

AMADEO – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

TURKEY BEACH – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

ARGENTO PERLO – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

GOLDSAY – Became awkward in its stride in the vicinity of the 450m. Rider M. Haley reported his mount failed to handle the track.

PETITE ELLLE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

MISHNAH – Raced wide throughout.

SHOW ‘EM – Jockey B. Richardson reported her mount did not handle the going today.

Race 9: David Lowery Diesel Repairs Open H’cap – 1000m

ZUKAZ – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin.

MARBEL DUKE – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

DRAGON FIRE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

MEDIA VITA – Raced wide throughout.
