GENERAL

Due to the abandonment of the Flinton meeting scheduled for the same day, Stewards accepted the reasons for all late rider declarations.

Due to the ambulance not arriving on course by the required time, the scheduled race times were amended to the following:

Race 1: AGRICULTURAL REQUIREMENTS QTIS 3YO MDN PLT – 1100m

GUESS WHO – Shifted in leaving the 800m placing another runner to the inside in restricted room. Jockey S. Apthorpe was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

READY TO CHASE – When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance, Jockey G. Cartwright stated that it was her intentions to lead, however the gelding was beaten for early speed before settling behind the leaders and in her opinion finished the event off only fairly. Stewards noted Jockey Cartwrights explanation.

COLD HARD FACT – Raced wide without cover throughout the early stages before obtaining a position outside the leaders leaving the 800m.

IN HAVANA – Raced greenly throughout the early stages. Raced in restricted room and forced to restrain for a short distance leaving the 800m when GUESS WHO shifted in.

MY GIRL SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.

THE FAIRYTALE – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.

Race 2: KICKIN UP DUST QTIS 3YO MDN PLT – 1100m

A TAD ABOVE – Slow to begin.

BACIO VINCENTE – Raced wide without cover.

DISCO DAMO - Bumped on jumping. Upon returning to scale Jockey J. Stanley advised that his mount failed to handle the track conditions of today’s event however, nonetheless was encouraged by how DISCO DAMO finished off its race.

HEAT – Slow to begin. Jockey C Caserta reported that after being slow to begin and inconvenienced shortly after the start, he was forced to race for luck and although beaten comfortably, was not overly disappointed with how HEAT ran to the line.

WILD – Leaving the 700m was forced wider and steadied from heels when GOLDEN WHIT shifted out.

GOLDEN WHITT – Raced greenly throughout the early stages. Shifted out abruptly leaving the 700m forcing another runner to the outside wider.

Race 3: TAB Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1400 metres

CRUZADOS – Slow to begin.

FAIRY DELL – Over raced in the early stages.

MADAME TESS – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages.

OUTDARE – Commenced to over race and shifted out abruptly leaving the 1200m. Tailed off from the 400m. Trainer P. Duff was advised a warning would be placed on the mare.

SAMHAIN – Severely crowded for room on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

VERY SOON – Shifted out abruptly on jumping despite the efforts of its rider. Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Improved onto heels and was forced to restrain approaching the 1000m.

MRS SHMICKELBERG - Began awkwardly. When questioned, Trainer S.Sixtus could offer no explanation for the seemingly improved performance, however stated that in her opinion, after being able to obtain an early lead and dictate the race, was able to travel uncontested throughout. Stewards noted Ms Sixtus’ comments.

Race 4: THE LOCKYER & SOMERSET INDEPENDENT Colts, Geldings &
Entires Maiden Pl 1400 metres

EIGHTYTHREE BRICKS – Bumped on jumping.

HEAD CHEF – Tightened for room and lost ground shortly after the start.

MOTION SENSOR – Bumped on jumping.

WILSON WON – Eased when crowed for room approaching the 1200m.

SEQUOIDEAE (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Forced wider leaving the 1100m.

THE CROW MAN – Raced in restricted room and was forced to shift out to avoid heels leaving the 1100m.

TRIPPER – Slow to begin.

CREDIBLE – Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 5: PORTERS PLAINLAND HOTEL LAIDLEY CUP OPEN HCP – 1600M

No racing incidents.

Race 6: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING BM60 HCP – 860M

MISS LUCINDA – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out across heels and was forced to restrain approaching the 300m. Upon returning to scale Apprentice Lloyd advised that shortly after jumping his saddle slipped placing him at a disadvantage throughout.

SPIRITOMO – Held up from the 500m to a point leaving the 300m.

BIG WIG – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

IMPLACABLE – Hampered on jumping.

DREAMALINA – Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 7: EMMERSON LEGAL & ACCOUNTING/MULGOWIE HOTEL – BM65 HCP – 1400M

BASIL – Placed in restricted room and was forced to restrain leaving the 500m when BONSEA shifted out. Jockey N. Tomizawa (BONSEA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that a point leaving the 500m, he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of BASIL resulting in that runner being tightened for room, checked and losing ground. Jockey Tomizawa’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 3rd April 2021 and to conclude midnight 11th April 2021.

PLACE ME RIGHT – Slow into stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

SISTINE AVENUE – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels and was forced to restrained leaving the 600m.

FORT MYER – Raced wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages.

Race 8: LOCKYER VALLEY WASTE MANAGEMENT BENCHMARK 55 HCP – 1400M

BOREAS – Clipped heels and blundered leaving the 500m when attempting to shift wider.

KOHIKO – Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in over the concluding stages.

SOLID ASSET – Began awkwardly.

DECOR DEELS - Bumped on jumping.

SUZY NEEDS LOVIN’ - Began awkwardly.

RUBY RUSH - Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 9: RAY BACHMANN REAL ESTATE C3 PLT – 1100M

COOK IT CHARLIE – Fell rounding the home turn. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons surrounding Jockey J. Stanley being dislodged when rounding the home turn to a time and date to be fixed. Rider J Stanley was examined by the on course QAS officials and then transported to hospital for further observations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained abrasions to the head and the fore legs. Trainer D. Murphy was advised that COOK IT CHARLIE will require a veterinary certificate prior to returning to racing.

OAKFIELD GERONIMO – Buffeted between runners upon jumping. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.

SPECIAL CASE – Raced wide without cover throughout.

WAIT A MINUTE – Shifted in abruptly over the concluding stages.

DOTTI DEAR – Began awkwardly.

TWERK – Slow. Was disappointed for a narrow run leaving the 600m. Steadied to avoid heels shortly after the winning post.

MISS MAKEPEACE – Steadied to avoid heels shortly after the start when HONEY BABY was carried wider. Severely checked upon straightening to avoid the fallen horse resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and almost being dislodged.
