GENERAL
 
As Jockey J. Woodhouse was overweight, he was subsequently fined $200 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Replacement as per Stewards summary.
 
Race 1: GATTON VIEW HOTEL Maiden Handicap 860 metres
 
WHISTLIN' RULER – Tightened on jumping.
 
BOBBYBOUCHE – Began awkwardly tightening runners to the outside.
 
DAWN ZERO – Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Momentarily steadied from heels leaving the 100m when WHISTLIN’ RULER shifted out. Jockey R. Payne the rider of WHISTLIN’ RULER was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
ARATULA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ICANFLY – Slow into stride. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CYCLONE DIVA – Tightened shortly after the start lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 440m shifted wider when awkwardly placed at the heels of WHITSUNDAY LAD. Bumped with WHITSUNDAY LAD leaving the 250m.
 
DUSTY HAZE – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of RAINING RICHES near the 50m and was steadied.
 
WHITSUNDAY LAD – Began awkwardly tightening runners to the inside. Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 250m shifted out under pressure in the home straight and bumped with CYCLONE DIVA.
 
Race 2: LOCKYER PRODUCE QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
The start was delayed when SPECIAL DEE proved difficult to load. Trainer D. Leggatt was advised a warning would be paced on the filly’s pre-race manners.
 
MR DUDWEY – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start bumped on the hind quarter by SPOT THE ROT which shifted out and became momentarily unbalanced.
 
MUSCHIALLI – Beaten favourite ($1.85) - Rider A Allen reported that the gelding travelled keenly in the early and middle stages and in his opinion this may have had a detrimental affect on the geldings finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. A post-race swab sample was taken for analysis.
 
STOP THE ROT – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Raced greenly in the early stages. Shifted in to obtain clear running when awkwardly placed at heels leaving the 200m.
 
UNCLE BUD – Hampered on jumping.
 
IXELLES – Shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 600m and raced wide for the remainder.
 
TEMPTRESS KATIE – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 1000m. Raced greenly throughout.
 
SHE'S SO VAIN – Began awkwardly taking UNCLE BUD and SPECIAL DEE wider. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
SPECIAL DEE – Hampered on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey A. Spinks was reminded of his obligation when using the whip out of contention.
 
Race 3: TAB Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
JUST LIKE RULER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until and point near the 250m. Steadied when placed in restricted room leaving the 100m when SISKIN was taken in by DUSTINS which was weakening and shifted in.
 
LUCKY SENATOR – Slow to begin. Commenced to over-race whilst being restrained leaving the 860m.
 
DUSTINS – Upon returning to scale, rider J. Murphy advised concerns with the gelding’s action throughout.  A post-race veterinary examination of did not identify any abnormal findings.
 
 
FAIRY DELL – Rider N. Thomas reported that after beginning moderately was caught wide and as a result elected to restrain mare to a position closer to the fence at the rear of the field and as a result was further back than anticipated.
 
MADAME TESS – Fractious in barriers. Knuckled on jumping.
 
MY GIRL ROCKS – Fractious in barriers.
 
SISKIN – Slow to begin. Leaving the 250m, shifted out when awkwardly placed at the heels. Near the 100m was tightened for room when DUSTIN’S shifted in whilst weakening.
 
A'YUN – Began awkwardly.
 
THE CROW MAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
BAVARIAN MISS – Commenced to over race whilst being restrained from the heels of MY GIRL ROCK’S leaving the 1200m. Near the 800m improved on the heels of A’YUN and was steadied.
 
Race 4: GATTON CUP SATURDAY 26TH JUNE BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
HELLAVA BABE – Bumped on jumping.
 
HARRYANDTHETIGER – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. After the running of race 4 Jockey N Callow was examined by the QAS and subsequently stood down from his remaining engagement.
 
ACCESSORY – Restrained from heels near the 1250m and commenced to over race for some distance.  
 
KOHIKO – Began awkwardly and bumped HELLAVA BABE. Shifted out abruptly near the 1000m and raced wide without cover for the remainder.
 
ELLA DIVINE – Near the 600m shifted out to obtain clear running and raced wider for the remainder.
 
KASITA – Commended to over race whist being restrain leaving the 1300m. Near the 1200m commenced to hang out and shifted wider on the track. Improved onto heels of ELLA DEVINE and was steadied leaving the 800m.
 
Race 5: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING Class 2 Handicap 860 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when the 2nd placegetter, Apprentice A Bakos (SAM’S ALLYCAT) and licensed trainer N King requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether they had grounds to lodge a protest against the 1st placegetter SPIRITOMO (App A Jones). After viewing the films, App A Bakos and Ms N King advised that they did not wish to proceed with the protest and Stewards declared correct weight on the Judges placings.
 
 
FINAL DECLARATION – Fractious in barrier. Hung out throughout. Near the 600m was forced wider when STARLEX hung out. Held up for clear running from the 400m until a point leaving the 300m.
 
MR STACK – Slow to begin. Dipped in the early part of the straight. Steadied when improved into the heels of LA BELLE LA BELLE near the 100m.
 
SPIRITOMO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Near the 30m shifted in under pressure and bumped SAM'S ALLYCAT.
 
GHABBIE – Raced ungenerously throughout.
 
STRALEX – Inclined to hang out throughout.
 
SAM'S ALLYCAT – Bumped by SPIRITMO over the concluding stages, Apprentice A Jones was reprimanded under AR131(a) for permitting her mount to shift in when not clear to do so..
 
Trainer N. King was fined $200 under AR206(1) for presenting MISS MAGNOLIA & SAM’S ALLYCAT in the incorrect gear.
 
Race 6: VANDEFIELD GATTON Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres
 
THE LAST DRAGON – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
COLD HARD FACT – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Apprentice Z. Lloyd was reminded of his obligations when riding his mount out to the line.
 
SECONDOFMAY – Near the 800m steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of THE LAST DRAGON and to the outside of MYSTIC BROOK which shifted out.
 
MOMENTUM GLORY – Slow to begin.
 
MYSTIC BROOK – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 7: ROYAL GEORGE HOTEL ROSEWOOD Class 1 Plate 1600 metres
 
The star was delayed when ALIRAAJ become fractious in the barriers, reared and became cast in the barriers. Subsequently declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards on veterinary advice at 3:52pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in ALIRAJJ be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
17 cents in the dollar for the win - #9
  9 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #9
19 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #7
23 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #1
 
Trainer M Kropp was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the gelding racing or trialing again.
 
MANHATTAN SPECTOR (NZ) – Commenced to over race leaving the 1100m and a result had to be steadied from the heels of EGO DANCER.
 
SUFFICE – Began awkwardly.
 
TRIPPER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SCARAB– Slow to begin. Steadied from heels when the pace slackened at the 1100m. Weakened noticeably from the 600m and took no further competitive part in the event. Stewards advised trainer G Sitek that the mare would be restricted to competing at non-TAB venues until finding competitive form.
 
Race 8: RIDING FOR ABBIE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1400 metres
 
THE KNIGHT – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
LEO THE LION – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Hung out rounding the first turn.
 
ABSOLUTE GLORY – Approaching the 200m shifted in to obtain clear running.
 
ATOMIC FEATHER – Began awkwardly tightening runners to its inside. Raced in restricted room near the 600m.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS – Tightened for room on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
CERTAIN DOUBT – Raced wide without cover from the 800m.
 
I'M JACKO – Fractious in the barriers. Raced keen in the early stages.
 
SKYE AND ME – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 200m until a point approaching the 100m
