GENERAL

Prior to the running of Race 3 Stewards and a delegation of senior riders reinspected a section of track near the crossing at the 1600m and also a section of track near the 800m. Whilst Stewards and riders were satisfied to proceed with the remainder of the program safety concerns were held for the safety of riders and horses near the crossing. Stewards acting under the provision of AR21(f)(ii) amended the distance of Race 6 from 1800m to 1400m in order to avoid the worse section of the track. All trainers in Race 6 were satisfied to compete at the reduced distance and an announcement was made to this effect.
