Stewards considered an objection lodged by D. Lane the rider of FUN FACT which finished third against TREVELYAN (R. Stewart) being declared second placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference in the straight. Stewards were of the opinion that near the 200m FUN FACT laid inwards at the same time as TREVELYAN was attempting to come to the outside of BOBBY DEE. As a result FUN FACT and TREVELYAN bumped and after both horses became unbalanced they made contact again shortly after. Taking into account that FUN FACT had contributed to the interference Stewards dismissed the objection and declared correct weight.

Stewards considered an objection lodged by J. Orman the rider of MAGIC FOX which finished fourth against MORRISSY (M. Zahra) being declared the third placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference in the straight. Stewards were of the opinion that MORRISSY was carried outwards over the concluding stages marginally by SCOUT resulting in MORRISSY making contact with MAGIC FOX, with both runners becoming momentarily unbalanced. As the interference suffered by MAGIC FOX was caused indirectly by SCOUT shifting out the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared.

Jockey Currie added that shortly after the filly travelled fairly but failed to respond and disappointed in the straight. Co-trainer C. McEvoy stated that the filly may not have appreciated the slightly firmer track than at its recent runs. Mr McEvoy made the undertaking to report to Stewards in regards to any condition that may have affected the filly’s performance today.
