Race 1: GRACE LAWYERS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
COURT ROCKING – After being initially slow to begin, was inconvenienced by PRIDE OF JEZEBEL, which shifted out on jumping.
 
PRIDE OF JEZEBEL – Began awkwardly and shifted out, inconveniencing COURT ROCKING which lost ground. Laid out around the home turn. Raced greenly in the home straight when placed under pressure.
 
MAGIC CONQUEROR – Laid in near the 1000m having to be steadied off heels. Raced wide in the early stages. Bumped by REDENZO BULLETT, which improved into a narrow run near the 900m.
 
REDENZO BULLET – Improved into a narrow run near the 900m, bumping MAGIC CONQUEROR, which was racing to its outside.
 
Race 2: ARC UTILITIES MANAGEMENT Class 5 Handicap 1300 metres
 
LYRICAL PRINCE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
Race 3: MARSH ADVANTAGE INSURANCE Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres
 
AUSFALL – Slow to begin.
 
HEATHER JOAN – Slow to begin.
 
STAZZANA – Raced ungenerously when being restrained leaving the 1000m until approaching the 500m.
 
SAPPHIRE GIFT – Commenced to lay out leaving the 500m and continued to do so under pressure in the home straight.
 
SLIGHTLY SHADY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: STRATA COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres
 
MR AZRAY – Slow to begin.
 
THE WARDSMEN – Slow to begin.
 
WOTS WONG – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the horse would incur a 3 month ban from racing and must undertake a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.
 
POINT THE WAGON – Commenced to hang out leaving the 600m and forced HELSUN and SPARTAN very wide rounding the home turn. Continued to hang out in the home straight and shifted out near the 250m, causing HELSUN to be checked to avoid that runner’s heels. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer V. Heading was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
 
SPARTAN – Shifted wider leaving the 500m to improve. Was then forced very wide on the track near the 400m and was inconvenienced by HELSUN, which was taken out by POINT THE WAGON, which hung out.
 
HELSUN – Was forced wider rounding the home turn and was checked near the 250m to avoid the heels of POINT THE WAGON, which hung out despite the efforts of its rider.
 
PHIONAIX – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit during running. Trainer K. Sims advised Stewards he had removed the tongue-tie for this start and that it is now his intention to have the tongue-tie added back to its gear.
 
 
Race 5: ROCHELE PAINTING Maiden Plate Four-Years-Old and Upwards 1400 metres
 
As NEW YORK STATE was advertised as a colt instead of a gelding, public announcements were made to this effect. Trainer M. Eggleston was fined $100 for failing to enact a stable return in this regard pursuant to AR102(a).
 
NEW YORK STATE – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer M. Eggleston was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Raced greenly under pressure for a short distance leaving the 200m.
 
HOTBOSSAN – Fractious in the barriers. Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
CHALET GRAND – Slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early stages.
 
RED DENARO – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SAN BERNARDINO – Laid in for the majority of the race. Raced wide throughout. Trainer K. Deacon was advised a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
 
BUSINESS AS USUAL – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
HOSTWIN GENERATION – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: THYSSENKRUPP RATINGS BAND 0 - 68 Handicap 1100 metres
 
VALIANT – As the gelding was having its first start after a long absence from racing it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
STAY SMART – The start was delayed when the gelding had to be re-saddled when arriving at the barriers. Apprentice W. Peel’s whip broke proving difficult for her to ride the horse out with full vigour.
 
NATURAL FORCE – Slow to begin.
 
OUR ROCKY – Slow to begin.
 
SCHWEID AS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
NEXT DIMENSION – Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and had to be restrained off heels approaching the 400m.
 
Race 7: ARCHERS THE STRATA PROFESSIONALS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MY DIAMOND GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
RED GARTER – Slow to begin.
 
PRINCESS JUDE – Improved onto heels at the 800m and was restrained.
 
PETITE ELLE – Overraced in the early and middle stages, having to be restrained off heels for some distance.
 
DUCHESS OF ROSE – Lost its near hind plate during the race.
 
Race 8: KELLY PARTNERS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 1800 metres
 
WALKINSHAW – Lost its near hind plate during its preliminary and was unable to be re-plated. An attempt was made to remove its off hind plate, however due to the gelding’s manners it was unable to be removed and permission was granted for the horse to race without its near hind plate. Shifted inwards on jumping, bumping with TELEREVE, which shifted out.
 
SWING SHIFT – Slow to begin.
 
CATCH ME LATAR – Slow to begin.
 
BRYBECK – Slow to begin.
 
TELEREVE – Shifted out slightly on jumping, bumping WALKINSHAW. Disappointed for a run near the 400m and shifted out in an effort to obtain clear running near the 350m, bumping Walkinshaw. Rider S. Galloway advised Stewards upon returning to scale after being disappointed for a run near the 400m the horse was unable to sprint when obtaining clear running. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
EIRA – When questioned in to the seemingly disappointing performance, rider R. Palmer advised Stewards the gelding was not comfortable on today’s Good 3 surface.
