RACE 1: DINDAS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100 METRES
 
The start was delayed by approximately three (3) minutes due to TUCKER MCGOO refusing to load in the barriers.
 
TUCKER MCGOO – The gelding refused to loadand was subsequently declared a late scratching at 11:48am by order of Stewards. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared all bets on TUCKER MAGOO be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:

0 cents the win (SO CLEVER)
4 cents the place (SO CLEVER)
2 cents the place (PIVOTAL MOTION)
 
Trainer L Kelly was advised that a barrier certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.
 
POSITIVE TENSION – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
KATANAROCK – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
 
RACE 2: MITEK MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES
 
Upon returning to scale, B El-Issa, the rider of the 3rd placegetter SUN MOON SKY, lodged an objection against 2nd placegetter GEOSTORM for alleged interference rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.When considering the objection and noting the 1 and 1/4 margin between the placegetters, Stewards dismissed the objection and correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings. 
 
KERMAKAYA – Slow to begin.
 
REMARKABLES – The gelding dislodged its rider, apprentice J Lloyd, near the 1600 metres in the preliminary and travelled a short distance on the track before being captured. Apprentice J Lloyd was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service and was cleared to fulfil his riding engagements. REMARKABLES underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
ROMAN HEIR – Approaching the 1200 metres, was steadied and tightened for racing room when GEOSTORM crossed from a wider position. Rider R Palmer was advised to exercise greater care regarding this incident.
 
SUN MOON SKY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in throughout the home straight and approaching the 200 metres was steadied from the heels of GEOSTORM, which rolled out.
 
THE CATCH – The gelding lost its near fore plate during the event.
 
CLUB DOUBLE – Slow to begin.
 
YUFCALLEDCHARLIE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up momentarily rounding the home turn and was obliged to steady from the heels of SUN MOON SKY, which shifted out. 
 
REIGN HAYLIN SHINE – Approaching the 1200 metres, was steadied and tightened for racing room when GEOSTORM crossed from a wider position. Rider R Palmer was advised to exercise greater care regarding this incident.
 
RISE’N’SHINE – Slow to begin. Bumped shortly thereafter.
 
 
RACE 3: HUME BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1800 METRES
 
HELMET HEAD – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and was obliged to steady from the heels of GET ON BOARD near the 1400 metres. Bumped passing the 200 metres and became unbalanced. Laid in when placed under pressure. 
 
EMSHALKY – Raced three-wide throughout.
 
GET ON BOARD – When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance, rider A Fancourt reported that the gelding did not back up from last weeks’ run. Trainer J Field concurred with rider A Fancourt’s comments and advised that he would give the gelding a freshen up and would then continue with its preparation.
 
HEATHROW – Rider S Cormack replaced rider J Woodhouse as he was unable to make the allocated weight. Rider J Woodhouse was fined $200.00 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride for which he was overweight. Slow to begin. Near the 1400 metres, commenced to overrace. Shortly thereafter was steadied from the heels of HELMET HEAD when the pace eased. Had difficulty obtaining clear running to a point passing the 200 metres where it bumped with HELMET HEAD and became unbalanced.  
 
EARN OUT – Slow to begin. Raced keenly passing the 1500 metres. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
LOCO MOJO – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
RAHAAN – Slow to begin before its rider elected to improve and obtain the lead passing the 1500 metres.
 
ASTRAL KNIGHT – Raced three-wide before obtaining a position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.
 
 
RACE 4: HYNE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD CLASS 1 PLATE 1200 METRES
 
EMBERS – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Rounding the home turn was disappointed for a run and had to be steadied when SHEZABEANS rolled out and DRY TIMES rolled in marginally.
 
SHEZABEANS – Rolled out on the home turn.
 
 
RACE 5: AWS BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1400 METRES
 
LONDON BANKER – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 1000 metres.
 
SIDEKISS – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 1000 metres.
 
NOMOATHAJ – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
 
PERFECT WITNESS – Passing the 1000 metres, was tightened and lost its position between SIDEKISS and NOMOATHAJ, which rolled in. Apprentice J Lloyd, rider of NOMOATHAJ, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting in when insufficiently clear of PERFECT WITNESS.
 
CROCKETT – Slow to begin. Raced three-wide throughout.
 
 
RACE 6: LANGS CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1100 METRE
 
BOBLEE – Tightened shortly after the start and had to be restrained.
 
GOLDEN MEAN – Placed in restricted racing room near the 100 metres and had to be steadied when BUSHIDO shifted in and away from DREAMREACHER, which rolled in slightly.
 
PENASQUITO – Began very awkwardly and shifted out. Raced three-wide throughout.
 
DESERT DIGBY – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
 
WIDESPREAD – Inconvenienced on jumping.
 
FREYA’S CLOAK – Inconvenienced on jumping.
 
 
RACE 7: WESBEAM BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1400 METRES
 
DESTINY’S SON – Began awkwardly. When racing keenly improved onto heels, had to be steadied and shifted in.
 
RINVIATA – Raced three-wide throughout.
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of its rider, which revealed the gelding to be displaying lameness in its off fore limb. Trainer L Kelly was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.
 
MIRACLESFROMHEAVEN – Had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight until a point near the 200 metres.
 
REDENZO GAL – Rider T Marshall replaced rider J Guthmann-Chester as he was unable to make the allocated weight. Rider J Guthmann-Chester was fined $200.00 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride for which he was overweight.
 
HOT SCENE – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of its rider, which failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
THE WARDSMEN – Began awkwardly. Near the 900 metres, had to be steadied away from the heels of DESTINYS SON, which shifted in.
 
 
RACE 8: EDLYN FOODS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1800 METRES
 
SISTER KATHLEEN – Blundered on jumping.
 
STAY SMART – Raced three-wide throughout.
 
DEFACTOR – Trainer M Costa was fined $100.00 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider for DEFACTOR by the prescribed time. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying thumps.
 
SPARTAN – Raced three-wide throughout.
 
DUBLE GAZE – Passing the 200 metres, was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of FILLYRAE CYRUS, which shifted out. Apprentice S Tomlinson, rider of FILLYRAE CYRUS, was reminded of his obligations to show greater care regarding this incident.
 
LADY MAGNUS – Put in an awkward stride passing the 700 metres. G Thornton, stable representative for C Calthorpe, pleaded guilty and was fined $200.00 in respect of a charge pursuant to AR251(1)(a)(i) in that he had a syringe in his possession on course. A swab sample was taken from LADY MAGNUS and the syringe sent for analysis.
