Race 2 – NAB More Than Money QTIS Maiden Plate 3-Y-O & Up 1170m
Start of this race was delayed due to the QAS attending to a patron. The declaration of correct weight was delayed for Stewards to view the start footage and ascertain whether PRINCESS RACER and FILLYRAE CYRUS had been afforded a fair start as it was believed the barriers did not open in unison.
After viewing the footage Stewards were of the opinion that barrier gate on FILLYRAE CYRUS when opening may have swung back on the filly. Stewards were of the opinion that FILLYRAE CRYUS was afforded every opportunity to begin with the rest of the field and therefore deemed it a runner. With regards to PRINCESS RACER, Stewards acknowledged that barrier 12 had not opened in unison with the rest of the field, therefore the mare was denied a fair start. Stewards acting under the provision AR.204(1)(c) declared the mare a non-runner.
All monies invested on PRINCESS RACER were ordered to be refunded in full and winning bets subject to the following deductions:

Win bets less 5 cents in the dollar
All place bets less 6 cents in the dollar

FILLYRAE CYRUS – Took a step back as the start was effected and then slow to begin with the barrier swinging back onto the filly.  Raced wide throughout.
Race 3 – Nolan Private Selection Benchmark 60 Handicap 1030m
Prior to this race Stewards ordered the starter to test the barriers following the events from the previous race. The starter informed Stewards that he tested the barriers on two occasions and found them to be in good working order.
Start of this race was delayed due to the QAS attending to a patron.
ROYAL EQUIANO – Bumped at the top of home straight by MASTER DENRHO.
COONOWRIN RUBY – Had to be steadied when tightened for room passing the 800m when MASTER DENRHO shifted in. Jockey M.Crawford was advised by Stewards to exercise more care in similar situations.
MASTER DENRHO – Laid in rounding the home turn and bumped another runner.
FIRST BID – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide throughout.
Race 4 – Nolan Vale Benchmark 50 Handicap 1470m
Start of this race was delayed due to MAGESTICAL MAIDEN dislodging its rider (R.Faehr) on route to the barriers. Jockey R.Faehr was examined by QAS and cleared to fulfil his further engagements. MAGESTICAL MAIDEN galloped riderless for some distance before being recaptured in the tie-up stall area. Stewards ordered the scratching of MAGESTICAL MAIDEN at 3.44pm.
After arriving at the barriers, CRAIGLEA SIMMO was examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to be lame in the near foreleg. On veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the scratching of the CRAIGLEA SIMMO at 3.44pm. Trainer K.Johnston was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.
