There was a slight delay to the start of Race 1 awaiting the arrival of the QAS.
 
Race 1: BENTLEY’S QLD/CENTRAL WEST RURAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres
 
GREY FALCON – Slow to begin and lay in over the concluding stages.
 
OUR DESERT ROSE – Jumped away awkwardly losing considerable ground.
 
PLATINA – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
SHAGRIMMY – Travelled wide with no cover and lay in over the concluding stages.
 
CLARE BARES ALL – Travelled wide with no cover.
 
 
Race 2: MOORE CIVIL & PLANT HIRE / PRO TYRES BM 60 HANDICAP - 1000 metres 
 
CHARLES – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey J. King was questioned regarding the performance of the horse, stated the gelding felt like he was under pressure for the entire race.
 
BOUND TO ME – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race.
 
ENJOYABLE – Jumped away awkwardly getting its head in the air.
 
 
Race 3: GEORGE BOURNE & ASSOCIATES CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200 metres  
 
BOLLENTE – Travelled wide for much of the race and jockey M. Haley stated the gelding resented the kickback.
 
NINO – Travelled wide with no cover.
 
THUNDER – Reared prior to the start being effected and slow into stride.
 
 
Race 4: RAYNERS CRANE AND PLANT HIRE BM 55 HANDICAP - 1400 metres  
 
ITALIAN SON – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
HOLEY GADOLEY – Sustained an injury to the offside foreleg at the 600m and was retired from the race. The gelding was humanely euthanised after a systematic veterinary inspection.
 
STYLISH LUCK – Travelled wide for much of the event.
 
There was a delay to the start of Race 5 awaiting the return of the veterinary surgeon.
 
Race 5: DONALDSON FAMILY WILLOWIE CUP / RACE TO ROMA QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres      
 
Jockeys J. King and S. Watkin were permitted to ride 1kg overweight on their allotted mounts. Reprimands were given to both jockeys and they were reminded of their obligations when accepting rides. Riders both have excellent records regarding this matter, and both travelled long distances to the races which is not ideal conditions for weight loss.
 
KAKAKENNY – Slow to begin and held up for clear running down the home straight.
 
HUNTER ISLAND – Slow into stride.
 
SONG ONE – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
The connections of BUSH CAVIAR requested to see the photo finish print prior to correct weight being given.
