GENERAL
GOLD REVENGE- Stewards granted permission for Jockey P Romeo to ride the filly 1/2kg over its allotted weight.
 
 
Race 1 –  Banana Feeds Australia Benchmark 45 Handicap (900m)
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA- Held up for clear running approaching the 200m before shifting in.
 
HAND OF FAITH- Shifted out around heels to obtain clear running passing the 100m.
 
DUNNYS STAR- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide throughout.
 
GOHARDONHULA- Raced wide throughout.
 
CLOUT- Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 2 – B-Complete Equine Supplement Maiden Plate (1000m)
 
APOLOGY ACCEPTED- As Jockey P Cullen was indisposed due to injury Jockey S Wilson was substituted as the rider of the mare.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a minor laceration to its hind cannon in running. Jockey Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner (19 times) during the race. Jockey Wilsons license to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days to commence Friday 21st August 2020 up to and including Thursday 27th August 2020. Jockey Wilson may resume riding Friday 28th August 2020. Jockey Wilson was advised of his right to an internal review.
 
SERENE MELODY- Slow to begin and shifted out on jumping. Hampered by another runner which shifted out on entering the home straight.
 
CLASSIC ENUFF- Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping. Hung out throughout racing extremely wide rounding the 800m turn and the home turn. Trainer R Chillemi was advised the filly would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
BE FAMOUS- Began awkwardly
 
CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY- Slow to begin. Raced wide the majority
 
OURMARIE- Shifted out on entering the home straight and hampered another runner. Jockey C Jokic was reminded of her obligations under the provisions of AR131(a).
 
NORWEGIAN WOOD- Raced wide the majority.
 
GOLD REVENGE- Raced wide the majority.
 
PERFECTLY POSH- A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a minor laceration to its hind cannon in running.
 
 
 
Race 3 – B-Complete By Banana Feeds Australia QTIS Benchmark 60 Handicap (1100m)
 
PURE REBEL- Obliged to steady off the heels of another runner which shifted in passing the 1000m. On returning to scale App. K Southam advised she dropped her whip passing the 350m.
 
CONQURESS- Commenced to race ungenerously approaching the 1000m and shifted in hampering another runner. Continued to race ungenerously intermittently throughout. Trainer S D’Avila advised it was her intention to enact a gear change in an effort to curb the mares racing manners. Nonetheless Trainer D’Avila was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners. Jockey D’Avilla was reminded of his obligations under the provisions or AR132 to ensure that his whip arm do not go above shoulder height.
 
STARENA- Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner.
 
EL OF A SAGA- Bumped with the runner to its outside on jumping before being buffeted between runners shortly after.
 
SOLDATI- Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
ROTH’N’BELL- Slow to begin.
 
MAGIC SEARCH- Raced wide throughout. Pulled up soon after passing the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  
 
LABRUSCO- Raced wide the majority.
 
MISHANI REDMAN- Raced wide the majority.
 
COOL ATTITUDE- Jockey B Thomson was reminded of her obligations regarding her use of the whip under the provisions of AR132.
 
 
 
Race 4 – B-Complete-Equine Gut Health Class B Handicap (1200m)
 
MISPRINT- Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
SAPPHIRE WINGS- Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly on jumping losing ground. Trainer M Preston was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners. Raced wide the majority.
 
SUJANI- Shifted out on jumping bumping with another runner. Obliged to steady and shift in to avoid the heels of another runner which shifted out approaching the 200m.
 
UPTOWN TOFF- Bumped with another runner which shifted out on jumping. Raced wide the majority.
 
CAFFE ROMANO- Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
ARITOMO- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Laid in approaching the 200m inconvienencing another runner. App E Cass was reminded of her obligations and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
TECHNICIAN- Raced wide the majority.
 
 
 
Race 5 – B-Complete 100% Natural Equine Supplements Benchmark 55 Handicap (1500m)
 
ANARCHY- Slow into stride.
 
I’M NOT SURE- Slow into stride.
 
HOT TOP- Fractious prior to the start. Slow to begin. Raced wide the majority. Jockey N Yadi was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
THE FOX EFFECT- Slow to begin. Raced wide the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration near the left eye.
 
SUNNY SAILOR- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
SWEET JUNE- Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
VULPES- Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
DIVINE MELODY- On returning to scale App. K Swaffer advised that the mare had performed disappointingly when pressured in the home straight and on returning to the mounting yard was found to have swallowed its tongue. Trainer R Ingliss advised it was her intention to use a tongue tie on the mare in future starts. Stewards noted the explanations.
