DAISY’S APART – Raced four wide in the early stages before receiving cover near the 700m.

PENTAFORMANCE – Tightened on jumping between PRINCESS MONA and NORTHERN DRAGON. Shifted in approaching the 800m. When questioned regarding the incident, jockey B. Powell stated that at that particular point of the race he felt the horse was failing to respond when asked to steady away from SUPER FREAK. Stewards, considering the evidence, noted the explanation tendered by jockey Powell and also asked that in future he exercise greater care when crossing. Began to tire significantly approaching the 600m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which could find no apparent abnormalities. Stewards, after considering today’s poor performance, advised connections that the mare would be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial before its nominations were accepted in the future. Trainer C. O’Neill also indicated that it was the likely intention that the mare would be retired.
