Race 1: GET SOCIAL @IPSWICHTURFCLUB MAIDEN PLATE – 1500M
 
THELLYSON – Bumped on jumping. Inclined to lay out under pressure over the final 300m.
 
GRAN DE LUKE – Bumped by LADY ELEANOR on straightening.
 
TABARD – Began awkwardly and was bumped on jumping.
 
CALISTO – Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition.
 
LADY ELEANOR – After racing in a rearward position, failed to respond when placed under pressure approaching the 400m. Rider M. McGillivray reported that the mare felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
Race 2: CARLTON MID QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow L. Tarrant, the rider of 5th placegetter RAJO MISS, to view the stewards’ patrol footage to determine whether he had grounds on which to lodge an objection against 3rd placegetter ANGELS OF FENWAY. After viewing the videos, jockey Tarrant indicated that he did not wish to proceed.
 
GO GETTER – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout.
 
ANGELS OF FENWAY – After being fractious in the barriers, reared as the start was effected, made contact with the overhead partition and lost considerable ground. Commenced to overrace when in a rearward position approaching the 850m and was shifted three wide to improve and obtained a position three wide outside the lead passing the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer K. Geran was advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding for its racing manners.
 
GNARLY CHARLIE – Raced four wide without cover after passing the 800m.
 
KOBY’S STRATEGY – Bumped on jumping. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DIVINE MISS BOOM – Raced three wide without cover after passing the 800m.
 
RAJO MISS – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping KOBY’S STRATEGY. Disappointed for a run passing the 200m and had to shift to the outside to obtain clear running.
 
SOMEBODY LOVES YOU – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Race 3: INFIELD FESTIVAL TIX ON SALE CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000M
 
SANGLIER – Began awkwardly.
 
I AM VENUS – Began awkwardly.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4.
 
Race 4: SIRROMET MAIDEN H’CAP – 1350M
 
HOME SCENE – Laid out whilst leading after passing the 1200m.
 
NORMANTON – Began awkwardly and was then bumped. After travelling a short distance was again bumped on the hind quarters by TIPONI. Brushed the running rail for a short distance passing the 1000m when racing in restricted room to the inside of RETAIRIUS.
 
FLASH FIGHTER – Shifted in and made contact with the running rail when in a trailing position approaching the 900m.
 
RETAIRIUS – Bumped on jumping. Had to be steadied away from the heels of IF THE SHOE FITS passing the 1100m.
 
ROCKSHORE – Became awkwardly placed passing the 1100m when racing in restricted room to the outside of RETAIRIUS and to the inside of LA BENCA. Raced three wide without cover from the 1000m.
 
TIPONI – Became awkwardly placed passing the 1200m and made heavy contact with the hind quarters of NORMANTON. Had to be steadied away from the heels of ROCKSHORE passing the 1000m.
 
IF THE SHOE FITS – Began awkwardly and bumped RETAIRIUS. Had to be steadied away from the heels of HOME SCENE passing the 1200m.
 
Race 5: SCHWEPPES CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M
 
The start of this race was delayed when the near fore plate of LADY EIGHTY EIGHT, which had been cast en route to the barriers, was retrieved and refitted.
 
THUNDEROUS STRIKE – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.
 
LOVES A LOTTERY – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure approaching the 200m and became awkwardly placed at the heels of THE GREAT BOOMBINO.
 
THE GREAT BOOMBINO – Began awkwardly. Laid out for a short distance passing the 200m.
 
Race 6: IPSWICH CUP TIX ON SALE RATINGS BAND 0 – 58 H’CAP – 1200M
 
THE BIG EATER – Slow to begin and then hampered on jumping.
 
TIMPERLEY – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
TOFU MICK – Bumped heavily on the hind quarters by NAKANAI on jumping, was turned sideways and became unbalanced.
 
VIBRATO – Bumped heavily by NAKANAI shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Held up rounding the home turn until straightening.
 
ZEPHETTO – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SHADYVALE STAR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
REEF KNOT – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
LOUISE OF GLENCOE – Bumped and hampered between runners on jumping.
 
NAKANAI – Tightened for room and lost ground on jumping between TOFU MICK, which was taken in by LOUISE OF GLENCOE and REEF KNOT when that horse jumped inwards, and VIBRATO, which shifted out. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
Race 7: CHANNEL SEVEN RATINGS BAND 0 – 58 H’CAP – 1500M
 
As A. Chau was injured, T. Harrison was substituted as the rider of VOANABA.
 
MEYIWA HITAM MAWAR – Commenced to overrace after being crossed by MYSTERIUM passing the 1300m and got its head up for a short distance when being restrained. Again threw its head in the air when being restrained passing the 900m.
 
SICARIO – After racing in a rearward position for the majority of the event, commenced to yield ground passing the 600m when placed under pressure and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a nasal discharge and to be displaying signs of having a respiratory infection. Trainer’s representative Mr R. Tyrell advised stewards that the gelding would undergo an endoscopic examination in coming days, the results of which would be forwarded to stewards. Mr Tyrrell was advised that SICARIO will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
FLYNN EFFECT – Slow into stride.
 
HENRY’S ON COURSE – Laid out rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
ALL ONE CLASS – Slightly hampered passing the 100m. Apprentice N. Fazackerley, the rider of HENRY’S ON COURSE, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
FAST ARLI – Held up passing the 400m and then was disappointed for a run to the inside of EDEN ROAD.
 
REWA LAD – Shifted in on jumping and bumped heavily with VOANABA. Laid in under pressure passing the 100m.
 
CORSINI – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
EDEN ROAD – Raced four wide in the early stages before obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1100m.
 
SHE SALUTES – Reared slightly as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
VOANABA – Put its head down as the start was effected and on jumping was bumped heavily by REWA LAD, which began awkwardly and shifted in.
