Race 1: NATE’S DIRTY 30 MAIDEN H'CAP – 1666M

BAFFLE MAC – Slow to begin. Shifted out shortly after the start, hampering ZEDGE. Performed poorly. Trainer G. Schwenke was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s lack of competitiveness.

METRICAL – Shifted wider at the 800m and raced wide for the remainder of the event. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R. Plumb stated that his instructions were to obtain a forward position, however, he was unable to do so as the gelding failed to show sufficient speed. He added that at a point near the 800m he elected to shift wider to improve, however, his mount was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. He further added that in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

ROCK ‘N’ SOL – Bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the horse would be ineligible to start for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.

SHOOT AGAIN – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

TYRIAN – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

C’MOME PADDYREILLY – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.

LILIERO – Had to be checked and lost ground leaving the 1400m. M. Du Plessis, the rider of BAY SHOT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in at that point when insufficiently clear of LILIERO. Jockey Du Plessis’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, commencing midnight Saturday 28 September and expiring midnight Sunday 6 October 2019. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Du Plessis’s good riding record, his plea of guilt and the low degree of interference.

ZEDGE – Trainer T. Haydon advised that the horse would be ridden in a rearward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Hampered shortly after the start, losing ground.

Race 2: MASTERS OF MOWING MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350M

SIR EDMUND was a late scratching at 12:13 pm when trainer R. Drysdale advised that the horse had refused to load onto the float.

NEMINGAH – Had to be steadied from the heels of THE LAST ROAD at the 1000m and then commenced to overrace. Apprentice C. Frater-Hill, the rider of THE LAST ROAD, was reprimanded and advised to ensure she provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground. Raced three wide without cover.

SPIRITUAL – Placed in restricted room at the 1000m when racing tight to the inside of NEMINGAH.

SWEET SILVER MOON – Slow to begin. R. Palmer reported to stewards that her mount was inclined to hang out throughout the event, placing her at a disadvantage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Mahon was advised that the horse will be required to trial prior to racing again.

TAKEMEOUTBACK – Raced wide in the early stages until obtaining a position outside the leader near the 700m.

DE NOVA STELLA – Held up rounding the home turn and was inclined to lay in in the home straight.

FILLYRAE CYRUS – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.

PADDLEPOP – Slow to begin.

ROCK ME HUSSEY – Improved on to the heels of TAKEMEOUTBACK at the 600m and shifted wider.

THE LAST ROAD – Bumped on jumping.

WE WANT IT ALL – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition. Placed in restricted room at the 1000m when racing tight to the inside of NEMINGAH. Hampered by ROCK ME HUSSEY at the 600m and shifted wider on the track. Had to be steadied at the 400m when placed in restricted room between ROCK ME HUSSEY and CANISTER, both of which shifted ground.

Race 3: CHUBS GUTTERING CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000M

DUKE OF FREDERICK – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out, hampering SHE KEEPS NOSECRET.

SHE KEEPS NOSECRET – Hampered on jumping. Inclined to lay out from the 600m until entering the home straight. Brushed approaching the 100m by DUKE OF FREDERICK, which shifted in and away from SUPERSONIC BOOM.

VIENNA MOON – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in.

Race 4: IPSWICH CITY BULLS OLD BOYS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1666M

SOLSPEIL – Bumped at the start. Placed in restricted room leaving the 1400m. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.

THE KNIGHT – Raced three wide without cover. Hung out rounding the home turn.

BLACKLOG – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover.

POLLINATOR – Slow to begin. Shifted wider by another runner rounding the home turn.

NEWTON – Bumped at the start by MOGUL and shifted out, making contact with SOLSPEIL. Overraced whilst being restrained when crossed by STORM HARBOUR leaving the 1400m and then commenced to lay out, particularly leaving the 600m, and as a result its rider was unable to test the horse over the final 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer B. Smith was advised that the horse will be required to trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.

WILLY BE LUCKY – Raced three wide with cover.

MOGUL – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with NEWTON.

Race 5: NGU REAL ESTATE C,G&E BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1200M

MAC’S BOY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

SUPER KIDS – Jumped awkwardly, hampered and lost ground and then failed to muster early speed despite the efforts of its rider. Shifted out under pressure at the 200m.

KNUCKLE UP – Slow to begin.

MAN OVERBOARD – Shifted wider by another runner approaching the 200m.

MASSIVE ATTACK – Commenced to overrace after obtaining cover in the early stages. Lost the off fore plate in running.

Race 6: MIHI TAVERN F&M BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1200M

ZOLLIKON MISS – Became fractious in the barriers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration above the nearside eye.

ZILITOR – Raced in restricted room leaving the 1100m and again approaching the 800m. Laid in in the home straight and near the 150m made contact with ABB ROY and again laid in approaching the winning post, resulting in ABB ROY having to be steadied.

ANGELA’S BEAUTY – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped another runner.

DAISY’S APART – Slow to begin.

RAIN ON ME – Raced three wide with cover. Bumped heavily approaching the 200m by INDY BONBON, which shifted out to secure clear running.

THUMBS UP – Slow to begin.

INDY BONBON – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near hind leg consistent with being galloped on.

ABB ROY – Raced three wide without cover. Bumped by ZILITOR near the 150m. Steadied approaching the winning post when ZILITOR shifted in. Whilst acknowledging the shift from ZILITOR, M. Hellyer was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure he rides his mounts out to the end of the race.

THAT’S HER I THINK – Bumped on jumping. Held up rounding the home turn and had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

Race 7: IPSWICH CITY BULLS FOOTBALL CLUB CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1350M

NICHOLAS – Eased shortly after the start and then shifted in across heels to obtain cover at the rear of the field. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

HAYBURNER –Stewards accepted trainer M. Dunn’s explanation for the late declaration of R. Fradd as rider.

PHANTOM SHADOW – Trainer S. Morrisey advised that the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Despite the efforts of its rider the horse settled in a rearward position.

NOWISEVERYTHING – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out. Overraced for a short distance passing the 1200m.

CONCEALED DYNAMITE – Raced three wide before obtaining a position outside the leader near the 800m.

SAPPHIRE GIFT – Hampered shortly after the start and lost ground.

INCHING CLOSER – Slow to begin.
