GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 800 metres
 
ACCEPTILE – After being moderate to begin, mustered early speed to lead the event.
 
EL NINO'S CHOICE – Raced four wide without cover throughout. Hung out approaching home-turn. Rider R Faehr was reprimanded for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres, 2 more than permitted.
 
MACHU PICCHU – Shortly after the start hampered between runners.
 
DANCES WITH TIME – Lost near-fore plate in running.
 
WHISTLIN' ARROW – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
 
Race 2: JINDI MARKETS THIS SUNDAY Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres
 
EXPLORATION – Slow to begin. Rider reported it felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ALL STARS – Near 800 metres raced ungenerously, shifted in and made contact with the running rail on a number of occasions.
 
 
Race 3: GLOBEMASTER III Fillies & Mares Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres
 
PULL ANCHOR – Carried wider on the track near 700 metres. Raced wide for remainder of event. When asked to comment rider B Thompson stated the mare’s fitness would improve from todays run and that PULL ANCHOR would be better suited to races over a longer journey than today’s event.
 
ZAITEKI – Held up for clear running approaching the home-turn.
 
TWERK – Re-saddled on arrival at barriers.
 
CALIFORNIA HONEY – Slow to begin. Approaching 700 metres improved onto heels of FANTASY and shifted out taking PULL ANCHOR wider on the track. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
FANTASAY – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 2190 metres
 
MONDENA – Raced three wide with cover from 1000 metres. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider R Fradd was reprimanded for use of the whip on seven occasions, two more than permitted.
 
SPURIOUS – Raced three wide from 1000 metres.
 
HOSTILE STAR – Raced three wide for majority of the event.
 
CHIEF COMMAND – Held up approaching the home-turn.
 
 
 
Race 5: TAB Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 6 minutes when PRINCE OF MOROCCO dislodged its rider and galloped riderless for a considerable distance.
 
FRANKLIN CORNERS – Bumped at the start. Raced in restricted room near 800 metres.
 
PRINCE OF MOROCCO – Rider dislodged behind barriers, gelding galloped riderless for a considerable distance, declared a late scratching at 2.48pm by order of Stewards.
 
Prior to declaration of correct weight Stewards all monies on PRINCE OF MOROCCO be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
 
6 cents win (RUMUNERATIVE)
7 cents place (RUMUNERATIVE)
6 cents place (THREEPOINT MISSILE)
8 cents (READILY FORWARDED)
 
Trainer G Heinrich was advised PRINCE OF MOROCCO must trial prior to its next race start.
 
Rider M Cahill was cleared by QAS staff to fulfil remaining engagements.
 
 
CHEVRONS'N'ROCKERS – Shifted out under pressure in home straight and near 200 metres bumped THREEPOINT MISSILE, before continuing to shift ground under hard riding inconveniencing other runners. Rider J Woodhouse was strongly advised to ensure he maintain full control when placing his mounts under pressure in similar circumstances.  
 
CHEERS TO ALL – Taken wider on the track near the 150 metres when awkwardly placed at the heels of MADCALL which was taken out by CHEVRONS’N”ROCKETS
 
THREEPOINT MISSILE – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping FRANKLIN CORNERS. Raced three wide for majority of the event. Bumped rounding the home-turn. Bumped heavily by CHEVRONS’N’ROCKETS when both runners shifted ground
 
MADCALL – Raced three wide for majority of the event. Near 150 metres obliged to alter course when CHEVRONS’N’ROCKETS shifted out under pressure.
 
 
 
Race 6: SIRROMET Class 2 Handicap 1530 metres
 
GOTTA BE FIRST – Began awkwardly.
 
PUMPS – Rider M Hellyer reported the gelding was inclined to lay out for majority of the event.
 
RIGHTEOUSNESS – Shifted in under pressure near 200 metres.
 
SUPER BAZOOKA – Began awkwardly.
 
SPICE TRADER – Raced three wide in the early stages of the event before progressing forward and racing outside the leader from 1000 metres. When asked to explain tactics from the 1000 metres, particularly her reason for pressuring SPICE TRADER between the 900 metres to the 700 metres, Apprentice KENNEDY stated her instructions were to lead as per its most recent start when successful at Gatton on 6th August 2020. In acknowledging these instructions, Stewards however were of the opinion App Kennedy had erred in continuing to pressure her mount at that point of the race, rather than steady SPICE TRADER when there was the opportunity to do so.   
 
 
 
Race 7: SKY RACING Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres
 
CALL ME LEGEND – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Steadied near the 1000 metres. When asked to comment on tactics adopted from the 600 metres, rider L Cassidy stated after tracking forward three wide with a trail he was mindful that approaching the home-turn he would have been forced very wide, and therefore elected to look for a run back to the inside. He added after improving between runners he was then was held up and unable to obtain clear running over the final 100 metres and went to the line without being fully tested. Stewards noted the explanation of L Cassidy.
 
SUPERVISOR – Raced three wide for majority of the event.
 
TONY'S DECREE – Raced with its head in the air when being restrained near the 1000 metres.
 
BASIL – Began awkwardly. Crowded for room approaching the finish line when SAYS WHO shifted in abruptly.
 
GRANDIOSO – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Near the 500 metres hampered when BLUEY’S READY shifted out.
 
BLUEY'S READY – Near the 500 metres shifted out to improve hampering GRANDIOSO. R Stewart, rider of BLUEY’S READY, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
SAYS WHO – Approaching the finish line when under hard riding, shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider resulting in BASIL being crowded for room.
 
CELTIC TIGER – Held up for clear running for majority of the home straight.
 
 
 
Race 8: CARLTON MID Fillies & Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres
 
MIYAKO ODORI – Over-raced in middle stages of the event.
 
ROCK TOUR – Blundered on jumping. Raced in restricted room and hampered near 700 metres to the inside of FEARLESS QUEEN which shifted in. D Smith, rider of FEARLESS QUEEN, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for carelessness and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
FEARLESS QUEEN – Shifted in near 700 metres.
 
MISS HOW LONG – Blundered on jumping. Near 700 metres improved onto heels of MIKAYO ODORI and had to be steadied.
 
LADY MICAELA – Raced three wide throughout.
 
SPIRIT OF EDYN – Slow to begin and then failed to muster speed in the early stages.
 
THAT'S HER I THINK – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Passing 750 metres improved onto the heels of ZANAZOU and then raced wide for the remainder. Rider reported THAT’S HER I THINK was inclined to race ungenerously for majority of the event.
