Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1200 metres

AIR FORCE ROCKET – Shifted out abruptly under pressure over final 100 metres before being corrected by its rider.

DELTA MISS – Apprentice A Thompson reported the filly raced greenly at various stages of the event and expressed disappointed in the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination of DELTA MISS revealed no abnormalities.

MISHANI ENCHANTED – Laid out rounding the home-turn.

THE LOVE OF MARY – Slow to begin.

Race 2: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1200 metres

JETTY – When asked to explain tactics adopted rider J Byrne stated it had been his intention to race in a more forward position however after it became apparent that he would be caught wide when runners improved to his inside he elected to restrain to the rear of the field. He added JETTY was not suited by the slow tempo in the early and middle stages and when improving into the race from the 600 metres was forced wider by runners to the inside when rounding the home-turn. A post-race veterinary examination of JETTY revealed a slow post-race recovery.

MISTRESS OF DOOM – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Held up approaching the home-turn and when inclined to lay out in the home straight shifted out near the 300 metres and bumped JETTY becoming unbalanced.

MISS BARTY – Shifted in and brushed running rail near 1000 metres.

SIENNA'S AWARD – Hampered at start between Jetty and MISTRESS OF DOOM which began awkwardly and shifted out.


Race 3: RIVER 94.9FM Maiden Plate 1700 metres

Correct weight was delayed to allow J Orman, rider of 3rd placegetter KOONUNGA HILL, to view the patrol video of an incident soon after entering the home straight. After doing so he elected to take the matter no further and correct weight declared on the semaphored placings.

CONJUROR – Began well from a wide barrier and rather than be caught wide rider L Dittman elected to progress forward and obtain the position outside the leader near the 900 metres.

HIGHLIGHTS – As R Maloney was to be overweight, Stewards permitted B Thompson to ride the gelding. R Maloney was fined $200. Shifted out near the 250 metres.

KOONUNGA HILL – Held up rounding the home-turn. Soon after entering the home straight shifted out and bumped SWEET GOLD on the hindquarters and shortly after near the 250 metres was disappointed for a run between SWEET GOLD, which shifted in marginally after being brushed on the hindquarters, and HIGHLIGHTS which shifted out.

FAIRY DELL – At the start restrained from a wide barrier to shift across behind runners and obtain a position closer to the rail. When restrained near the 1500 metres raced with its head in the air for a short distance and was then inclined to over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home-turn.

SWEET GOLD – Slow to begin. Improved three wide from a rearward position leaving the 900 metres. Bumped on the hindquarters soon after entering the home straight.

BELLICE – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home-turn.

Race 4: CARPET COURT IPSWICH Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres

KILLERMAN'S RUN – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home-turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

VOULAIT – Raced three wide with cover throughout.

IN FIORE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Obliged to alter course to the inside of KILLERMANS RUN near the 250 metres and over the final stages of the event raced in restricted room to the inside of PHABENI.

BETAJET – Slow to begin.

PERFECT AIM – Bumped near the 900 metres. Held up rounding the home-turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

GOOD CHAT – Knuckled on jumping and lost ground resulting in rider R Maloney being almost dislodged. Held up rounding the home-turn. Near the 200 metres shifted out to improve and bumped SOMERVELL.

SOMERVELL – Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. Taken in and bumped PERFECT AIM near the 900 metres.

SWEEPING THE BOARD – Near the 900 metres shifted in when not fully clear of SOMERVELL resulting in SOMERVELL being taken in and bumping PERFECT AIM. R Stewart, rider of SWEEPING THE BOARD, was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to provide greater clearance to fellow riders in similar circumstances.

CELTIC TIGER – Slow to begin.


Race 5: SCHWEPPES Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres

SOJOURNIST – Held up rounding the home-turn.

AUTUMN SPLENDOUR – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home-turn.

MISS MARGS – Near the 1000 metres tightened for room and was restrained when KOKOPO KITTY shifted in. D Smith, rider of MISS MARGS, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.


Race 6: CARLTON MID Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres

ICED – When asked to comment on tactics adopted when leading the main body of the field by a significant margin in the middle stages of the event, rider J Orman stated he rode ICED with some vigour from the barriers and the gelding raced keenly and proved difficult to settle, adding approaching the first turn near the 800 metres he attempted to steady the pace however ICED continue to race keenly. J Orman further stated he was of the opinion despite the horse travelling strongly, it was not an overly excessive pace, and in his opinion this was had no detrimental effect on the overall finishing effort of ICED.

CLEVER MISS – Jumped out at the start and bumped LASHONI.

THE LAUNCHER – Jumped in at the start and bumped LASHONI.

LASHONI – Hampered at the start between CLEVER MISS and THE LAUNCHER, both of which shifted ground.



Race 7: SIRROMET Class 1 Handicap 1350 metres

VENDIDIT – Near the 800m was inconvenienced and had to avoid the heels of DARING BELLE which after being checked lost ground and shifted out. Over the concluding stages was held for clear running and was unable to be fully tested to the line.

OUR FRAULEIN – Near 700 metres shifted in and made heavy contact with BUZZ BEATER. L Cassidy, rider of OUR FRAULEIN, was advised to show far greater care to fellow riders in similar circumstances. Raced three wide without cover throughout.

BUZZER BEATER – Checked near the 800m to avoid the heels of VENDIDIT. Carried wider on the track passing the 150 metres.

KAAYDEH – Near the 150 metres shifted out to improve and made heavy contact with PICTON which was taken out bumping BUZZ BEATER who was carried wider on the track.

PICTON – Bumped near the 150 metres. Lost near fore plate in running.

DARING BELLE – Checked near 800 metres. B Thompson, rider of SO YOU SHOP, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in at that point when insufficiently clear of FELZONE which was taken in crowding DARING BELLE which contacted the running rail and had to be checked. The license of B Thompson was suspended for a period of eight (8) days to commence midnight 2nd December up to and including 10th December 2020

FELZONE – Crowded near 800 metres.

Race 8: IEEC.COM.AU BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1350 metres

FULL NELSON – Bounded at the start.

COASTAL BOY – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in early and middle stages. Held up rounding the home-turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

BROCKY – Blundered on jumping and lost ground.

REBEL ROCK – Held up rounding the home-turn and in the home straight went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.
