DANCING ANGEL – Stewards questioned Apprentice M Kennedy in regards to the tactics adopted on DANCING ANGEL whereby she allowed the mare to settle half a length in advance of PIRACY, the leader of the event, rather than restraining to a position at that runners girth. Apprentice Kennedy advised that after beginning well the mare travelled comfortably throughout the event and in her opinion races best when not overly restrained during its races and for that reason she was content to sit in advance of PIRACY throughout the middle stages. Having had to opportunity to review the Stewards footage Apprentice Kennedy agreed with Stewards that it would have been more advantageous to restrain DANCING ANGEL throughout the middle stages as this would have given the mare a better opportunity to finish the race off at the conclusion of the event.
