Race 1: FARMBOT WATER MONITORING CLASS 5 PLATE - 1000 metres
 
CHARLES – Dipped shortly after the start and travelled 3 wide for much of the race with no cover.
 
ANGRY DESERT – Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in nearing the 300m tightening an inside runner.
 
BOLLENTE – Slow to muster early speed, forced way through near the 300m contacting an outside runner. Jockey S. Watkin was severely reprimanded and reminded of his obligations regarding careless riding.
 
TIME FOR US – Held up for clear running down the home straight.
 
SAME OLD STORY – Contacted near the 300m when an inside horse forced a run when not sufficiently clear causing the mare to be restrained and relinquish its position.
 
 
Race 2: NAPCO PORTLAND DOWNS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres 
 
FLEWSHOT – Slow to begin.
 
KOBY’S STRATEGY – Jumped inwards contacting NOBLE THOUGHT.
 
NOBLE THOUGHT – Contacted at the start and slow into stride.
 
WRITER’S BLOCK – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
 
 
Race 3: GOLDEN WEST HOTEL / O’DELL PLUMBING CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200 metres  
 
 
SLAYDEM and RECONIS were late scratchings at 1.30pm as there were no riders available.
 
KAOS AGENT – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the middle and late stages.
 
SPARMAN – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
 
LANZOFFANY – Slow to begin and slow to muster speed.
 
SCOTTABEE – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages with no cover.
 
Race 4: CPC ISIS DOWNS BM 55 HANDICAP - 1400 metres  
 
NICCONI PASQUALE was a late scratching at 1.30pm as there were no jockeys available.
 
MAKUBA – Travelled wide for much of the race with no cover.
 
THUNDER – Slow into stride and the travelled wide in the middle and late stages with cover.
 
AMADEO – Travelled wide in the early stages and lay in from the 200m when placed under pressure.
 
DO I HAVE TO – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages with no cover and lay in over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5: LANDMARK WESTERN ROSS CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres      
 
OUR BEATNIK – Eased back shortly after the start and travelled wide in the middle and late stages.
 
PRESENT SENSE – Over raced in the early stages and finished tailed off. Jockey D. Rewald stated when questioned regarding the performance, that the gelding travelled extremely well in the early stages and when asked for another effort to stay in the race tired quickly. He believes the horse will go for a spell now.
 
BOINGO – Slow to begin and lay in over the concluding stages.
 
SONG ONE – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race.
