Race 1 – Julia Creek Hotel (Top Pub) Great northern Maiden Plate-1100m
 
MEXICAN YELL- As no other rider was available Jockey D Ballard was permitted to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted weight. Raced wide the majority.
 
TINDER SURPRISE- Slow to begin. Raced wide the majority.
 
HINA MATSURI- Raced ungenerously for a short distance after the start.
 
Race 2 – Booth Pastoral BenchMark 65 Handicap-1100m
 
GOING GREY-  Jockey T Brummell was permitted to ride the mare 1kg over its allotted weight. Raced wide throughout.
 
TEMPESTA ROSSA- When Jockey A Spradau was unable to attend due to illness Jockey R Payne was permitted as a substitute rider. Jockey A Apradau was advised a medical certificate would be required prior to his next raced ride. Began awkwardly, jumped outwards making contact with the outside barrier petition. Raced wide for the majority.
 
HUNTING- Broke through the front gates of the barrier prior to the start. Was quickly controlled by its rider and was subsequently vetted by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Raced wide throughout.
 
LEICA CELEBRE- Shifted wider leaving the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
TEXT ME- Fractious prior to the start. On return to scale Jockey T Hill stated the gelding had gotten its tongue over the bit and proved difficult to negotiate around the home turn before finishing the race off poorly. Trainer T Parry advised it was her intention to use a Tongue tie on the gelding in the future.
 
 
Race 3 –  McKinlay Shire Council QTIC Class 2 Plate-1200m
 
FAIRMONT- Shifted out on jumping making heavy contact with the runner to its outside. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MAKUBA- Forced wider by another runner, which shifted out on jumping, making heavy contact with the runner to its outside. Raced wide for the majority.
 
STOLE THE SHOW- Bumped heavily by another runner, which was forced wider, and lost ground.
 
BOLLENTE- Raced wide for the majority.
 
HOLOGRAM- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 4 – S.N. Gabbert Constructions/ Johnsons Grader Hire/ Auzscot Constructions Class B Handicap-1350m
  
STRYKINGLY SO- Broke through the front gates of the barrier prior to the start. Was quickly controlled by its rider and was subsequently vetted by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
AL MAH ROCKET- Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in bumping the runner to its inside. Dipped slightly passing the 1200m and again at the 1100m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DURANT- Bumped by another runner which shifted in on jumping.
 
TIME FOR US- Slow to begin. Performed below market expectations. Jockey R Payne reported the gelding, after being slow to begin, failed to respond to her efforts throughout the race and in her opinion resented the kickback. Trainer R Herman was also unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
DUTCH TWIST- Raced wide for the majority.
 
ONEMORE FOR WILSON- Raced wide for the majority.
 
DAWN ASSAULT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
Prior to race 5 an inspection of the Barrier gate 6 was conducted and was found to be working effectively.
 
Race 5 – Townsville Earthmoving Julia Creek Cup Open Handicap-1350m
 
 ARGENTO PERLO- Slow to begin.
 
SNIPPY STRATEGIC- Began awkwardly.
 
DO I HAVE TO- Slow to begin.
 
MANDALONG PASS- Post-race vet examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils during the race. As this was the first time the horse had suffered such an attack and acting under the provisions of AR79 the gelding would incur the mandatory ban from racing for a period of 3 months and then must pass a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again.
