Race 1: SEARLE FAMILY KILCOY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL Class 5 Handicap 1500 metres
 
TONY'S DECREE – Laid in for the home straight.
 
RED MONKEY – Held up rounding the home turn, approaching the 100m shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
MS WICKED NICCI – Slow to begin, passing the winning post on the 1st occasion shifted in making contact with the running rail.
 
TYCOON PLAYER – When questioned into the tactics adopted in today’s event, Jockey N Thomas stated after beginning well he allowed the gelding to race forward which is its usual racing pattern over this distance. He further added that its last four starts were over shorter distances than today’s event. The instructions were confirmed by the trainer S Barker and stewards noted the explanation.
 
ELYSIA – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Race 2: THANKS SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL Maiden Plate 1500 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed when OTTONIAN had to be resaddled.
 
CHILD SUPPORT – At the 50m was momentarily eased when GO MILLO laid in.
 
PITTSBURGH PHIL – Took the crossing awkwardly and hung out in the vicinity of the 1100m. At the 900m had to be steadied away from the heels of FLEUR DE JOUR.
 
GO MILLO - Took the crossing awkwardly and hung out in the vicinity of the 1100m, raced wide throughout and was inclined to lay in for the home straight.
 
PUCKISH – At the 1000m Improved onto the heels of PITTSBURGH PHIL and was steadied. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FLEUR DE JOUR – Jumped awkwardly making heavy contact with the outside barrier partition. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Following the running of this event S Sweeney was examined by QAS staff and stood down due to an injury she sustained to her left foot. S Sweeney was advised she must obtain a medical clearance before riding next.
 
LILIVALE LIBERTY – Slow to begin, held up for clear running from the 350m until entering the home straight.
 
WINDUPGIRL – Raced wide throughout.
 
DIVINE ROCA – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
TOKYO TWISTER – Became awkward over the crossing and hung out severely in the vicinity of the 1100m. Trainer J Edwards advised a warning would be placed on the fillies racing manners.
 
TWOGOBOOM – Tightened between runners on jumping away.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards considered a protest lodged by the trainer of the 5th placed CHILD SUPPORT against the 4th placed GO MILLO alleging interference inside the final 50m. As stewards could not be satisfied that the extent of the interference to CHILD SUPPORT was greater than the margin separating both runners at the finish, they dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
 
At a subsequent enquiry Trainer B Jones was fined $200 AR219(5) for lodging a protest which in the opinion of the stewards was frivolous.
 
 
Race 3: TATTERSALLS RACING CLUB KILCOY CHRISTMAS CUP BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1900 metres
 
HARADIFY – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages, passing the 800m improved onto the heels of RESONARE and had to be steadied.
 
MOSS GO NOW – Slow to begin.
 
VALIDAR - Following the running of this event A Patis was examined by QAS staff and stood down for injury. A Patis was advised she must obtain a medical clearance before riding next.
 
CONSULAR – Laid in from the 500m. Was held up for clear running entering the home straight and had to be steadied.
 
THE GOOD THE BAD – Held up for clear running approaching and entering the home turn.
 
ZEDAQUA – Near the 150m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of THE GOOD THE BAD which shifted in to obtain clear running. Rider J Stanley was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground. During the running some packing became detached from the mare’s bandaging its off hind leg.
 
HOSTILE STAR – After being fractious in the enclosure kicked out making contact with the running rail. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to start. Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, rounding the home turn was steadied and held up for clear running.
 
DEMESNE – After being fractious in the enclosure kicked out making contact with the running rail underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to start. Raced wide throughout. App T Wheeler reported that the gelding tired over the concluding stages was of the view the gelding did not appreciate the distance of today’s event.
 
 
Race 4: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1060 metres
 
FIVE OXFORD – Laid in for the home straight.
 
SOLARCH – Slow to begin.
 
SHE'S A TIGRESS – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
LADY LANCASTER – Slow to begin, overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
JIM'S PRINCESS – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS CHRISTMAS GIFT BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1500 metres
 
MISTA BUSY was a late scratching at 10:40am as the gelding was injured on route to the racecourse. Trainer L Wanless was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
SUPERVISOR – Slow to begin.
 
SMARTCELLI – Slow to begin, approaching the 1250m was checked and lost ground and shifted out across heels when VENECIA shifted in when not clear.App K Southam (VENECIA) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 1250m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SMARTCELLI (M Castle) resulting in that runner being checked, losing ground and shifting out across heels. App Southam’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 05/12/2020 and to expire midnight 15/12/2020.
 
BULLTRUCK – Slow to begin, raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1200m was forced wider by SMARTCELLI which shifted out across the heels of VENECIA.
 
Race 6: THE GREAT NORTHERN KILCOY CANNONBALL LIGHTNING Class 3 Handicap 800 metres
 
Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer T Back to scratch FALVERA at 9:38pm due to personal reasons.
 
Start was slightly delayed so that an QAS officer could attend to an on course patron.
 
HIDDEN EYES – Began awkwardly, shifted out making heavy contact with COURTING JOY. Shifted wider entering the home straight when SPECIAL CASE shifted out.
 
GENERAL WITT – Began awkwardly and lost ground, approaching the 400m was steadied when improved onto the heels of YOUR OPTION.
 
METRO TRAMP – Fell near the 30m. Initial evidence was taken from App N Fazackerly (CORAJILLO), K Yoshida (SPECIAL CASE) and App T Wheeler (MUNGARA), but as App K Cowan had been transported to hospital, the inquiry was adjourned to a later date to allow App K Cowan to be present.
 
COURTING JOY – As the gelding had not started in a race for over 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary and was passed fit to race. Bumped on jumping away.
 
SPECIAL CASE – Began awkwardly.
 
YOUR OPTION – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7: 7 THANKS TATTERSALLS RACING CLUB RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1060 metres
 
As App A Patis was stood down with injury and there were no suitable apprentice rider’s available, Stewards permitted jockey R. Palmer to replace App A Patis as the rider of FORGOTTEN FEELING.
 
Due to a fall in the previous race, the start of this race was set back to 5:30pm
 
HARD ENOUGH – Laid in at the 900m.
 
GOSSIAUX – Began awkwardly and lost ground, steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of THE OLD BIRD and shifted out.
 
RAKU'S SECRET – Began awkwardly and lost ground, raced wide throughout. At the 400m steadied from the heels of GOSSIAUX.
 
MORION – Began awkwardly.
 
THE OLD BIRD – Slow to begin, approaching the 800m was forced wider when TEZZA shifted out. Commenced to lay in for the home straight.
 
TEZZA – Tightened between runners on jumping away and lost ground. Approaching the 800m hung out and made the turn awkwardly then shifted out as a result.
 
Race 8: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Prior to the running of the event Jockey Adam Spinks was kicked in the enclosure, he was subsequently examined by QAS staff and clear to fulfil his engagement
 
CRAIGLEA KARLY refused to proceed to the barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 5.57 p.m. All monies invested on CRAIGLEA KARLY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 5.57 p.m:

Trainer G Gatti was advised the mare must compete in an official barrier trial prior to racing again.
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Began awkwardly shifted out bumping HER OPTION.
 
BOLD DELAGO – Slow to begin, raced greenly in the home straight.
 
STRYKING PRINCESS – Trainer G Schwenke was fined a sum of $100 under LR67 in that he failed to engaged a rider by the prescribed time.
 
LOVE ME BROKE – Began awkwardly.
 
HER OPTION – Bumped on jumped away.
 
BLAZING HARADA – Tightened between runners on jumping away, approaching the 400m had to be steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of LOVE ME BROKE. Rider B Newport reported the gelding was inclined to hang out for the majority.
